No one really knows who is privy to the Congress high command...Gaurav Kumar used this communication gap pose as the 'private secretary' of Rahul. He then proceeded to extract money from various Congress leaders on the pretext of getting them tickets or party positions. In a normal party - one call to the party leader or his team would have exposed the scam - but the opaque system resulted in a crisis situation developing in Uttarakhand! 😱

Congress history has taught us one thing clearly: Having many powerful leaders is not enough, choosing the leader who truly carries people’s mandate and public acceptance is what matters most. Even in 1946 after independence , despite most PCCs backing Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for PM,but Mahatma Gandhi chose Jawaharlal Nehru believing he was better suited for the vision, popularity and future India needed at that moment. Leadership decisions in Congress were never just about internal numbers alone, they were also about public mood, ground reality, vision and mass connection, other wise many Rajasthan will happen again. That is why even today, the Congress high command must not look only at MLA numbers or internal equations while choosing a CM face. Look at the ground. Look at the public pulse.
