90 percent of what I know about Halsey involves her angry reaction to the Fantano review and also her wishing for another 9/11 for Pitchfork after they also panned one of her albums.

Halsey continues to drag Anthony Fantano in a series of follow-up posts on Twitter / X. “Who cares he gave a bad review? I care that a pay for clicks reaction YouTuber can facade as a pro critic and say it’s ‘main character syndrome’ for an artist to lament her medical suffering on an album (surprise!) about her own life. He’s a raised-by-4chan edgelord bully. Yuck. Being a woman dealing with serious health issues often means being afraid of telling the truth about the pain you’re in because you’re afraid of not being believed or seeming attention seeking. the funniest part of this discourse is pretending halsey and fantano occupy the same lane politically. halsey was literally in the streets during the 2020 BLM protests, documenting police violence, providing aid, and using her platform to warn vulnerable communities about ICE, while fantano was doing what he does best: sitting behind a computer monetizing opinions. yet halsey gets mocked while he’s praised as “one of the most outspoken leftist voices we have right now.” what a fascinating set of standards.
