MTNGH and ETI are playing checkers with my portfolio. Any gain from one gets cancelled out by almost equal or higher loss by the other. 🥹🥹

Fallout from GOIL vrs Star Oil fuel price war. GOIL in February reclaimed its spot as the largest OMC in the country with a market share of 12.65%. Star Oil which ended 2025 with an overall yearly market share of 10.68%, started January 2026 strongly, with a 12.01% share. However it's share fell to 11.40%. GOIL on other hand ended 2025 with a overall year market share of 10.32%, improved to 11.14% in January, before flipping the number position in February. For the combined 1st two month of 2026 (i.e Jan & February), GOIL now hold a market share of 11.89%, with Star Oil closely following with 11.70%, Shell 6.96%, Zen 5.28% & Total 4.37% make up the top 5 OMCs. GOIL's reclaim has been driven by a significant rise in its volumes of fuel sold particularly petrol. In January, GOIL sold 30.7 million litres of petrol and 27.2 million litres of diesel. Those figures leaped to 38.7 million litres of petrol and 29.9 million litres of diesel. Star Oil on the other hand saw its sale volumes plummet as Petrol particularly saw sales fall from 49.6 million litres in January to 43.8 million litres in February. This preliminary data suggests GOIL may have been the biggest beneficiary of the price war we saw at least in February. Attached is list of top 10 OMCs thus far this year

@_edemkojo I get it. The brand equity might not be strong like that

@_edemkojo Can outlets location also influence the volume? Probably the spike in Goil's vol might be from outlets that originally drive vol for them. And for Star, the selected loc that offered the price disc are in areas with less traffic, hence might not draw any sign vol 📈

@_edemkojo That explains it. Brand acceptance isn't there as we might want to believe and the 5ps difference is also not enough incentive to switch.

128M shares at GHS 5.00 puts the raise at GHS 640M. A 640M patient capital that easily supports the expansion plan to 80 stations while preserving cash flow and maintaining balance sheet strength. 👏🏿👏🏿 Zen Petroleum #InvestingGhana #CapitalMarkets

Big news for Ghana’s economy and homegrown success! 🇬🇭 ZEN Petroleum @zenpetroleumltd , a proudly 100% Ghanaian-owned Oil Marketing Company, has officially listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE)! Since 2010, ZEN has grown into the market leader supplying high-quality fuel and lubricants to Ghana’s mining sector, while rapidly expanding its retail network (now 63+ stations and targeting 80 by end of 2026). They supply over 30 million litres monthly, employ 1,300+ Ghanaians, contribute billions in taxes, and have been named among Africa’s fastest-growing companies multiple times by the Financial Times. Listing on the GSE marks a new chapter: greater transparency, stronger governance, and real opportunity for everyday Ghanaians to invest in a trusted local champion. It’s exactly the model the NPA CEO praised—sustainable, credible, and built to last beyond any individual. Let’s celebrate this milestone and support more indigenous companies going public! A listing price of GH¢5 per share🔥 #InvestInGSE

@con__fi I agree with you, Dzidefo. Our regulators move too slowly, hindering Africa's progress in mobile money cross-border transfers. We need expedited rules for these transfers.

@MacJordaN Nice read! It’s quite a tragedy. Our legal and regulatory institutions are often slow to catch up with evolving tech, and that delay frequently ends up stalling meaningful progress.

If the pads distributed to school girls are produced by a Ghanaian company, do we need to set up another factory?

@_edemkojo Chaley, we are already struggling with a week revenue base, but folks want a factory that would in the long run erode the small revenue we're generating from existing factories. Me, I can understand them. I will probably make similar calls if I am not analytical.
