It's actually 139 he mentioned, if you listened to the minister well. 23 for old project absorbed, 54 for new ones initiated and 62 for other major projects. Now 44% of 136 (let me use the figure you claim to hear is 60) Does it mean out of 136 projects, 60 were sole sourced?

@_edemkojo The minister referred to 136 projects. I listened to the minister last night and he made it clear that he has no idea where the 107 projects Fourth Estate was referring to came from. He said the major projects were 136 and it's based on the 136 that the 44% came from........

On the issue of Fourth Estate vrs Agbodza Yesterday, the Roads Ministry directed us to two documents of 77 projects it says falls under the BIG PUSH (23 old project* and 54 new projects), to dispel claims it had issued 107 contracts since September 2025, 81 of which was through sole sourcing (mrh.gov.gh/publications/d…) The Fourth Estate insists its publication was accurate and in the spirit of transparency today also published the full list of 81 BIG PUSH sole sourced contracts. (thefourthestategh.com/2026/03/full-d…) I have spent some of my free time comparing and contrasting both documents and this is what I found. 1. Of the 81 sole sourced contracts in the Fourth Estate's list, 21 were not found among the 77 big push project list published on the ministry's website. PS: The Roads Minister yesterday admitted that government has also awarded 62 other major road contracts outside the big push. Does this mean the ministry responding to the RTI, submitted those projects as BIG PUSH and now says they are not? 2. A further 13 out of the 81 sole source list are project that are captured in the list of old big push projects. An interesting note here however, is that although the minister says he inherited 23 old or ongoing projects, the 13 sole sourced contracts as captured by Fourth Estate and the ministry's own data set, were all signed after August 2025. Can the Minister's label of ongoing project be accepted, when those contracts? 3. Lastly, the remaining 47 sole source contracts from Fourth Estate are found in the new/main Big push list, which implies 87% of the new projects were sole-sourced. Given that the Minister has sought to insist the Big Push he knows and started afresh are 54 projects, and 47 of them were sole-source how did he arrive at the 44% of Big Push contracts as sole sourced? Should we than say the Fourth Estate was "charitable" with their 76% as in light of the new facts and sticking strictly to his categorization, it was instead 87% of the big push project that were sole-sourced?

Forget about the countries which voted against the Ghana-led UN Resolution on Reparations for a bit, and focus on the abstentions.

I have seen in the last few hours the shareholding structure and financial position of CPC is going viral and has got people screaming. This episode confirms my earlier article that the social media hype on the stock market is mainly due to the Fear of Missing Out and not backed by insights.

On the SIM registration, I believe included in your Ghana Card data is a phone number. Can't that number automatically be made your primary number and then the other registered numbers restricted until you confirm with your in-built primary number?

@_edemkojo @Wuninti I had the most annoying experience this morning. I had just finished refilling my tank at GHS 12.23. While I was still counting money to pay, attendance came to start changing price to the current lower level laaa 😡 I wish I could pour the fuel back to buyback at lower price

@KokuiMensah I think I got that. But the shock is that if you able to put a small kiosk on a piece of barracks land, you also don't pay electricity shocks me.

@_edemkojo I’m shocked this is new to some people. So you mean you didn’t ever wonder why most security service wives sell ice blocks and frozen foods in the flats??

@readJerome Oh Yes, I just noticed that South Asia and Far E Asia are selling massive amounts of gold to buy oil & products linked to them. These states in Asia are net importers of energy & their byproducts. Put that with the gulf states selling their gold and we can see how price drops

@Pentsirrr @hsufiian This is why I don’t criticize Korle Bu much. If you’re seeking to provide services to as wide a population as possible, the funds to ensure proper infrastructure will be scarce.UGMC can provide top-notch services because they charge full cost plus and don’t joke with collections.

@GameliMartey That we are aware is being discussed heavily. But that woudl also require very strict enforcement from the BoG, otherwise people are usual will exploit the differential.

@_edemkojo I hope this is the point where they consider some mitigation triggers. If you asked me, even if the IMF is against Multiple Currency Practices, I'd adopt it for short-term mitigations.

Using GOIL's pump prices: Despite the rise in pump prices in Mar-2026, petrol price is still about 23% lower year-on-year while Diesel is still about 9.8% lower In Apr-2026, petrol has to jump by 20% while Diesel rises 10% to match d year ago level. That's why BOG is confident
