@contentmodes I would not have applied if I was not willing to forfeit my creator code and ability to publish. Standing on my values and taking a chance to help the ecosystem is far more valuable to me.

I recently applied for a role focused on Discovery at Epic Games. I won’t pretend the timing feels great. But at the same time, it felt necessary. I’ve spent a lot of time speaking openly about Discover, player trust, and the direction of the platform. If you care enough to keep talking about it, you should be willing to step up and be part of the solution. That’s what this was for me, me standing on what I say.

@duos_with_dad When applying to be a UEFN creator i remember reading something about not being allowed to know anyone who works on the discovery system

pain tolerance > talent. every successful map creator I know got there by surviving the months that made everyone else quit.

@RThemiy @mikayfn hive's map has had hundreds if not thousands of meticulous updates to make sure everything is positioned correctly, the game loop is perfect, the secrets they promote aren't too overpowered to cause rage quit inclinations, more goes into it than you think

the fortnite algorithm is not your enemy. the algorithm is a mirror. it shows you exactly what's wrong. low CTR? your thumbnail sucks. players leaving? your first 5 minutes sucks. low retention? there's no reason to come back. it's not hiding anything from you. epic is.... literally telling you what to fix. most creators blame the algorithm instead of reading what it's saying. read it. fix it. watch it reward you.
