Ruto claimed that part of the State House, Nairobi, lies on riparian land along the Kisichwa River, will be demolished after he got a notice. A claim meant to calm anger over Gikomba demolitions. So I checked the maps carefully. The Kisichwa River runs west of State House, not through it. Between the river and the State House, there is a clear buffer: Nairobi Arboretum St George's Primary and Secondary Schools Roads and open space Multiple apartment blocks In fact, the closest developments to the river are residential buildings sitting right along its banks. So what exactly is being demolished? Or another lie? And why haven't they gotten notices too? And here’s the problem and hypocrisy: There are over 30 buildings still standing on both sides of the river on riparian land. No demolitions. No urgency. No national statements. But in Gikomba, demolitions are immediate, justified using the same “riparian” argument. So let’s be honest: If this is truly about riparian law, Why does enforcement start with traders in Gikomba? And not with permanent structures visibly sitting on the Kisichwa River? And more importantly: Which exact part of the State House is on riparian land? Because, from publicly available maps, that claim is not obvious.

@the_sambu This also exposes our bad and low quality level use when constructing our residential buildings. If just a jet noise can crack a wall and shutter glasses, what would happen if we ever experience an earthquake?

They likely never anticipated such damage during their rehearsals assesments unless, of course, the pilot decided to pull a Ronaldo moment and deviate from the planned choreography.

Starlink is providing Internet connectivity to schools and hospitals in Africa that had nothing or very expensive and bad connectivity before. This will do more to lift people out of poverty than all the NGOs combined.

@KenyanSays Wearing suits doesn't make you smart or eliminate foolishness. Incompetence in suits is what we have in our parliament. Being a sycophant is very expensive because it means you drop your dignity, integrity and values.

I’ve been scrolling the TL this afternoon and honestly, I’m shocked at what I’m seeing. The Kenyan embassy put out a statement claiming that Kenyan househelps in Saudi Arabia will now be earning around KSh 34,000 per month. And immediately, some media houses and big accounts jumped on it like it’s some sort of breakthrough. My friends, let’s talk to each other honestly, what exactly is new here? Kenyans in Saudi have been earning 30k to 34k for years. This is not an improvement. This is not a negotiation. This is not "good news". In fact, many of you who have relatives there know this; Kenyans are actually among the lowest-paid domestic workers in Saudi Arabia. Let me give you a real example that many Kenyans abroad have shared with me. There are homes in Saudi Arabia where you find two househelps: 🇰🇪one Kenyan 🇸🇦one Filipino Both doing the same work, same hours, same sacrifices. Yet the Filipino earns KSh 54k to 60k, while the Kenyan earns KSh 30k. Why? Because the Philippines govt negotiated a strong, protective agreement with Saudi Arabia. One that ensures their citizens are valued, well-paid, and protected. Kenya, on the other hand? Ruto govt has taken oppression that has existed for years, repackaged it, and announced it to you as progress. And some platforms here, and you’ve probably noticed them immediately amplified it, almost like they’re running PR for the government instead of telling Kenyans the truth. We've not talked about even the kenyans who die in saudi arabia and families have to fundraise to bring bodies in kenya , yet we are told there is insurance by the first family Meanwhile, the real issue is this: There are Kenyans stranded in Saudi today, crying for help, stuck in abusive homes, locked out of their passports, unpaid, or even unable to return home. Do you see the embassy announcing solutions for them? Do you see the media covering that part? But announcing a salary that already existed? That one, they are rushing to celebrate. My people, don’t let them play with your intelligence. A government that truly cares for its citizens does what the Philippines did: It negotiates. It protects. It demands respect for its people. What we have instead is a government that treats citizens like commodities, not human beings. Kenyans deserve better. Not PR. Not recycled announcements. Not silence in the face of real suffering. We deserve a government that protects our workers, the people who sacrifice everything to feed their families back home. And until we get that, I will keep speaking. Because if we don’t stand for each other, then who will?
