PRESIDENT APPOINTS CLARIS AWUOR OGANGAH-ONYANGO AS VICE-CHAIRPERSON OF THE PANEL OF EXPERTS ON COMPENSATION OF VICTIMS OF DEMONSTRATIONS AND PUBLIC PROTESTS
Nairobi, Kenya
His Excellency the President has today appointed Claris Awuor Ogangah-Onyango, the Chairperson of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR), as the Vice-Chairperson of the Panel of Experts on Compensation of Victims of Demonstrations and Public Protests, with effect from 4th November 2025.
This appointment is made in accordance with Gazette Notice No. 12002 of 2025, and takes effect immediately. The previous appointment to the position of Vice-Chairperson, as published under Gazette Notice No. 12002 of 25th August 2025, has been revoked.
The Panel of Experts is tasked with overseeing the fair and transparent evaluation of claims and compensation for victims affected by demonstrations and public protests, in line with the Government’s commitment to justice, accountability, and human rights.
