@davepermen @N_Schmid @Tesla Thats only true for 1. Gen AP Software. The newer Systems have other cameras and should be able to provide traffic sign recognition. They even do so on country roads, but not on highways.

@Skayo_Fox @N_Schmid @Tesla If u remember right, it's because of their deals with autopilot 1s hw provider, contract forbids them to implement the same feature.
I read it years ago. It's a specific tesla issue they can't simply fix. They legally could with the FSD stack. But that's not available here.

@davepermen @Tesla Well, yes and no.
It did set the speed limit to 40 and braked at the same time (maybe coincidence, maybe not).
Also, it sometimes sets the speed limit from 80 to 120 for no apparent reason and accelerates in an 80 zone.
I wish it would at least just stick to the set speed.

@davepermen @Tesla Mine just brakes occasionally for no apparent reason.
Well, sometimes it sees 40 on an exit or it brakes before a tunnel.
I can, of course, override it by stepping on the gas, but it's a bit awkward when you have a passenger.
