@SV1CAL Great, enjoy! If you do figure out a nice/efficient way of adding impairment corrections to it I'd love to combine them and add it to the main block library.

Experimental HRPT 1.7 GHz setup with a simple honey-can feed and 2 probes for linear orthogonal polarization. Then V/H components are combined in a GNU Radio flowgraph to form RHCP/LHCP. There are sliders to adjust gain and phase differences.

@will_whang Now that's very interesting! Certainly makes things much simpler from a circuit perspective. I use bifurcation on my desktop, I'll have to try out a TB3 device with device connect time bifurcation.

@will_whang I can Google, promise. ASM2812 has Gen3 x4 uplink and x1 * 6 downlink

@will_whang Ah, pity it's only Gen 3 x2 lanes for the uplink. Any chance you know of a similar chip that's x4 uplink? x2 is still enough for most of my imagined usage, but pity to leave capacity on the floor as the Thunderbolt 3 link I have is x4 capacity.

@philcrump2 @IanJohnBuckley @davegkq I took one (long) look at the size/weight of the whole setup and the cadmium paint warnings and passed on buying any, mostly without regret. I do want to get dish on a rotator, but I think a larger backyard is a prerequisite. Till then, the best dish is someone else's dish!

@derekkozel @IanJohnBuckley @davegkq Yes, Skynet X-band terminal, I believe that this was one of a pair from the HMS Southampton decommissioned in 2009. I picked it up from a fellow ham in 2019. 1m dish inside, I've built a CAN bus motor+resolver system, still working on the RF side! Paint does need some work..

@IanJohnBuckley @philcrump2 @davegkq No... the radome designer definitely knew what they' were doing. The interior had cancer warnings (on the one I looked at) and sanding was a major no-go.
