The Supreme Court just struck down Colorado’s law banning the psychological torture of LGBTQ youth, aka conversion therapy. Colorado’s law is similar to CA’s. We anticipated this ruling, so I introduced SB 934, which makes it much easier for LGBTQ people to bring malpractice claims against those who inflict this torture on them, including with a much longer statute of limitations for kids who’ve been harmed. The Supreme Court majority opinion explicitly states that malpractice claims for conversion therapy are different than bans. You can’t “convert” someone who’s LGBTQ — full stop — & people who think you can are peddling quackery. California will always have the community’s back.

@literaryeric I’m not going to debate definitions. The bottom line: The trans holiday was strategically chosen to intersect with Easter Sunday. If the trans nutters wanted to legitimately celebrate a holiday, they could have easily picked a date that would have avoided this problem.

I’ve never seen such a disconnect between the commentary on this site and what I hear in the real world. I’ve talked to dozens of normal conservatives in real life about the Iran War and I haven’t met a single one who’s actually enthusiastically in favor of it. At best they’re warily optimistic. In most cases they’re opposed. In some cases they’re not only opposed but deeply furious. And yet here if you utter a word of criticism about the war you’ll be shouted down by throngs of alleged American conservatives who allegedly have wanted nothing more than for America to go to war with Iran. It just doesn’t reflect what I see on the ground. That’s not just cope because my position is unpopular with “my side.” I’ve held plenty of unpopular positions. I really don’t care. But in this case the social media vs real world divide is stark and unlike anything I’ve seen before.
