i got a bunch of new followers yesterday. here's a few tidbits about me: - finished math phd in 2019 on knot theory/quantum topology/quantum computing at georgia tech - cofounded an artist co-op last year that acts as a 3rd space for local creatives - main hobbies are art, lifting, running, yoga, hiking, math - once competed as a strongman in 2019 - cohost, producer, and writer of live late night talk show for the last 7 years toolate.tv we've never really had an online presence until very recently, just do it for the love of the game - worked on urbit for 4 years and nockchain for 3 years. - this year i cofounded with @HumanizerSequel a new project called branchpoint.xyz bringing multiverse finance to hyperliquid and beyond. more info will be forthcoming in the near future. - finance is a recent interest for me. it has rekindled my love of math that grad school did a great job of smothering. later today i'll write about my journey to recover my health last year, where in 6 months i went from being unable to sit or stand for two days to getting ripped, cutting down to 10% body fat, and running my first half marathon. on the left is me, on the right is @HumanizerSequel

prices are hypnotic gambling machines because, as brownian motion, they provide maximally random payoffs on every timescale, and random rewards hit the hardest. given human time preference, the highest dopamine rewards are at the shortest time scales, thus the popularity of 0DTE options.

stochastic calculus is so cool im kinda upset it was nowhere on my radar the entire time i spent in school. i get the same feeling of wonder learning about it as i got when first learning about infinite dimensional vector spaces (functional analysis)

At one point as a grad student I spent a few months trying to use machine learning to figure out topological quantum compiling for me but gave up after a few months, after someone said I was just combining buzzwords at a party and I decided solving things with a black box was lame.

Multiverse finance will allow you to smear out your wealth over possible futures. Selling upside in wealthy future universes in exchange for downside protection in less wealthy futures. Like an option collar, but where the "strike" is a set of future conditions.

very first thing im asking fable 5 to build is an algo trading strategy generation and backtesting engine harness for nautilus trader. expecting it to produce overfitted garbage with sharpe ratio 9999 that fails the moment it hits paper trading but hopefully the data from that fed back into strategy generation will eventually make it less bad at backtesting

as of this week i am officially working on @BranchpointXYZ full time! we’re building a composable platform and early markets for multiverse finance, beginning with the hyperliquid hyperEVM. we think this is the best place to find sophisticated traders willing to test new financial primitives in the wild, and are bullish on the growth of the hyperEVM. the idea is simple: financial markets should not only price the odds of future events, they should let assets, lending markets, derivatives, and entirely new instruments exist inside each possible outcome. you should be able to trade BTC inside the universe where the clarity act passes, and compare it with the universe where it doesn't. you should be able to trade oil in the universe where the strait of hormuz is open next week, and where it is not. you should be able to trade taiwanese semiconductor equities and compute futures in the universe where china does not invade taiwan until 2030. many scenarios for which it was impossible to hedge, where the spot price was a smeared out average over these possible futures, will become unlocked and visible. you'll finally know whether or not something has already been priced in. with branchpoint, defi protocols will be able to plug into a smart contract suite that makes them multiverse-aware: conditional assets, borrowing and lending within a given universe, impact markets, conditional smart contracts, and financial primitives we have not yet begun to imagine. you'll be able to position your financial assets contingent on future events before they happen, without making a directional bet on whether it happens. if that sounds like something you want to build, trade, fund, or help bring into existence, reach out. we aim to make the future more legible, complete the markets, improve collective sensemaking, and help discover the impact of events before they happen.

Probably the idea I am most excited in agentic networks is swarms. In particular, swarms that solve problems and optimize algorithms. If I were a founder right now, I’d take the Millenium Problems — $1m prize for each — and spin up swarms to solve them. If you can find some way an algorithm (quantum circuits? protein folding?) can be monetized, the swarm has incentive.

it was fun doing active trading for a few weeks to learn the ropes but it ultimately occupies too much mental space so im going back to DCA and hold and working on algo trading, which was my original interest back in february. math+programming is more my style than reading tea leaves on charts. $NOCK and $HYPE are my only bags

@platacrypto and not just exchanges, you can build nockaps that basically provide capabilities to other chains that they otherwise lack b/c of the general purpose zkvm, and the users dont even need to know nockchain is in the picture
