@RonDeSantis Compacts between states without Congressional approval are also unconstitutional.

@RonDeSantis It would take just 23 illegal votes per polling place in 2024 for Harris to get Virginia's and other similar states electoral votes. Small time pervasive voter fraud would be easy and undetectable. No large plan needed just small time hive fraud activity.

@Tironianae “your vote in Virginia doesn’t matter anymore” — dumb talking point, especially for Virginia Republicans. Right now their votes mean little when a Democrat wins the vote and all the electoral college votes. In a national popular vote, their vote will count as much as anybody’s.

JUST IN: Governor Abigail Spanberger officially signs a bill handing over Virginia’s 13 electoral votes to whoever wins the most votes across the whole country… even if Virginians vote the other way. Insane. They rushed it through with mostly Democrat votes. The plan has 222 votes. It needs 270 to actually start working. Once it does, your vote in Virginia doesn’t matter anymore. The Founders made the Electoral College so a few big cities don’t boss the whole country. This is a sneaky Democrat power grab to cheat that. “Every vote counts the same”? Lies. Virginians are pissed off, and they should be. They got played.

@M9558750394349 @RonDeSantis Now imagine all the voter suppression in red states where voters are purged from the roles were otherwise denied their votes. Ballots tossed because of bogus signature comparisons. Other ballots sitting at the post office undelivered, etc. And you’re worried about 2 dozen votes.

@smaxbrown @RonDeSantis I do have some concerns about election integrity under a popular vote scheme, because that would suddenly create huge incentives for more voter suppression in red states that are no longer competitive, but I think that’s solvable w/ uniform voting & election practices

@smaxbrown @RonDeSantis It’s certainly not foundational. And I don’t understand the rest of your statement. Not sure that it’s essential for election integrity, and it certainly doesn’t allow every state to engage in the process. Very few swing states determine the presidential result.

@Old_Guy_Bob @RonDeSantis “The Electoral College is the mechanism by which the 50 individual states unite.” What the f* does that even mean?? The constitution is the mechanism by which 13 individual states were first united. Electoral college is just one piece of the constitution and can be overwritten.

@RonDeSantis The Electoral College is the mechanism by which the 50 individual states unite. Do away with it and we'll have to rename the country to The Uniparty of America. And that's exactly what these socialists want.

@RonDeSantis The Constitution explicitly forbids states from doing exactly this: entering into compacts with each other.

@_sn_n @RonDeSantis Pennsylvania broke their state constitution on that election. Georgia certified fraudulent votes. Both states should have had their votes nullified.

@RonDeSantis Count every vote! A prior GOP Gov. and Secy of State in your state, Florida, managed to block counting of every vote in a Presidential election. Our country has been in a world of shit ever since. And we probably lost the last best chance to save civilization from climate chaos.

@Risk_Parody @jbillinson The DNC doesn’t need a football stadium. A basketball arena will do fine. Personally, I think a stadium there to host the Jets and the Giants would’ve made some sense. And it would have been magnificent for a World Cup final and the Olympics, and a few Super Bowls. But not DNC.

@jbillinson How retarded do you have to be to think stadiums are used solely for football, especially in the biggest market in the world. You could've had the DNC there

@milansingh03 @Henry_White1996 We found him!!! For years Progressive organizers have begged candidates and campaign managers to back off on campaign signs because “signs don’t vote.” But they steadfastly persist in the hope that somebody out there will be influenced by campaign signs. You have validated them.

@leedrutman This, by the way, is why I don’t like approval voting. There’s rarely two people buying for the same seat that I feel really get my approval. Certainly they’re not at the same level and I would resent giving them equally weighted votes.

DC voter here, voting in my first RCV election. I researched the candidates, and for each race, I only found one candidate I even felt mildly enthusiastic supporting. Anybody else feel that way?

@leedrutman That’s typical of most elections, but because the other voters have very different opinions than you, it’s hard to pull together a majority without ranked choice voting. Not impossible, but lots of people win races with pluralities only.
