Just leaving the Etihad. That from #LFC was the lowest ebb of this rotten season and an insult to the 7,600 fans. OK first half an hour but zero fight after 1-0. Buck stops ultimately with Arne Slot and I struggle to see him turning it around. If anything, they’re getting worse.

I struggle to see how Liverpool continue with this manager beyond the season. The belief’s gone, the willpower, the intensity… nearly everything good Klopp instilled in this side has been undone in the space of a year. You can forgive bad results - but not this dire mentality.

Could Cesc Fabregas be of interest to Liverpool / Premier League? @olifisher's superb extra insight into the Como boss is well worth a read: "I see a very, very high ceiling for Fabregas, not just because of his style of football but also the way he is navigating a very difficult league like the Italian one by learning from every setback and tweaking his style slightly. "Those core principles remain of course, and I imagine they will go with him to his next club."

🚨 @_pauljoyce on Xabi Alonso: "The external expectation is that the Spaniard, who is out of work after his sacking by Real Madrid in January, would be next in line for the managerial role, but there is little to suggest that aligns with internal thinking. "Alonso favours a back three, for example, which is one of the reasons why Liverpool did not pursue Ruben Amorim when pressing ahead with Klopp’s successor."

A reminder that FIFA is still holding onto tickets and selling them on a rolling basis. This gives the appearance that games are close to sold out or are sold out which justifies them selling tickets at their prices.

❓ Is there a world in which Cesc Fabregas could enter Liverpool's managerial shortlist? The Como boss is doing a terrific job in Serie A, but he'd still have to be considered a left-of-field appointment should the Reds part ways with Arne Slot. Outrageous? Or intriguing?
