@dylan522p @EnerTuition I think @enertuition is trying to say that AMD CFO publicly said they are working with Meta on training. @dylan522p, How does that differ from your recommendation Meta use MI300X internally for production LLM training? What are they working on if not that? Thx

@EnerTuition You don't understand how it works at Meta or what we said if you think that point makes any sense.

AMD's software stack maturity needs to improve but this is an entire article with little or no comprehension of AMD's MI300 rollout strategy. Some recommendations, like working with Meta are comical as anyone doing any research should know that AMD has already been doing that.

@jeffphowe Error in first pgraph. Even if Eagles had beaten Seahawks, 49ers would still get 1 seed if 49ers win out, due to 49ers having H2H tiebreaker. Now that Eagles lost, they are effectively 2 games behind the 49ers (due to tiebreaker). The 49ers clinch the 1 seed with any 2 wins.

Elon is choosing $DOGE because Dogecoin is better than #Bitcoin in many fundamental ways #Dogecoin has faster transaction speeds, lower fees, and less environmental impact than #BTC #DOGE is affordable for regular folks because of its high supply “People’s Crypto” - @elonmusk

@JTSEO9 @OilandNatty At least for a number of years, there would be no computers to put INTC chips into. Almost everything (cases, motherboards, cables, etc) is made in China/Taiwan.

@EnerTuition Every other Internet-based service offering non-premium cable channels bundles. I suspect content providers require bundling. So many WBD, DIS channels, etc. Would be great to just pay 50c/mo for the 1 channel you want instead of not getting any because $75 is too much for it.

The problem and the tragedy of YouTube TV is not that they are raising prices, but it is that the internet is the perfect way to offer unbundled services and YouTubeTV stayed with bundles like traditional cable/satellite. Unbundle channels and let customers decide content value.
YouTube TV@YouTubeTV

An update for our members. As content costs have risen and we continue to invest in our quality of service, we’ll be adjusting our monthly cost, after 3 years, from $64.99/mo to $72.99/mo, in order to bring you the best possible TV service.

@ernstdj @EnerTuition @anshelsag @HPC_Guru I'm not sure Nvidia has been DC supply constrained in 2+ years. Nvidia took multi-hundred million dollar *datacenter* writedowns due to reduced demand expectations in Q2 and Q3. And another writedown for Q4 was not directly disclosed, so we don't know what it was for.

@PB_CEng @TaylorOgan 2/ He needed to trick people into buying the cars, buying the FSD, and most importantly, buying the stock (it's *all* about the stock). And because he has tricked people like @erikalmqvist into thinking he's a genius, they are prone to believing that magic will happen. It won't.

@PB_CEng @TaylorOgan 1/ Any expert in the field knows. Easy to understand. It's a (hard) software problem. The necessary hardware is pricey. Since Musk knew he wouldn't get there, and couldn't sell cars at a cost that included the hardware, he pretended like he had a magical vision only solution.

Erik Almqvist@erikalmqvist

@garyblack00 @TaylorOgan You're both misinterpreting the status and challenge. Tesla is not climbing on that levelling system from 1 to 5, functionally FSD is already level 5... but at alpha level. With version 11 I'd say it enters beta since then it should be more or less feature complete.

@PB_CEng @TaylorOgan No he doesn't. People like him want to believe Tesla is some magic special thing. But any rational, informed observer knows it's extremely unlikely FSD will ever drive itself to an acceptable and consistent standard during life of the car. It's level 2 and won't be higher ever.

@TaylorOgan He’s got a point. The level 1-5 definition is from the SAE - it’s not a standard as such, merely a good way of categorising systems. Tesla follows their own path - that’s not necessarily better or worse, just different and helps avoid the bureaucratic creep which afflicts others.

@dylan522p Why do you assume that MSFT will use only NVDA? MSFT has the highest market share of AMD Instinct of any CSP. And why can't MSFT and GOOG use AMD/INTC spare CPU cycles just sitting there unused for a meaningful portion of the load?

@EnerTuition This won't happen because if such an effort gained steam the R holdouts trying to pull for a more conservative speaker/concessions would just back McCarthy or get the Rs to support some conservative alternative like Scalise.

@JTSEO9 @NikLentz If any validity to his numbers (unlikely to pass statistical rigor), it's saying instead of 1 in 1000 chance of dying from heart attack this year you'd have 1.25 in 1,000 chance. There's no chance that in 3 years 25% of the country will be dead from vaccine-induced heart attack.

@ReggieMiddleton @WallStCynic U R mistaking US market share as signal of success. Selling $1 for $0.95 is going to get volume. Tesla is stock promotion scheme, so they r happy to lose money to trick people into thinking they are dominant so stock price goes nuts and Elon can dump his bags on the believers.

@jaredbfox @WallStCynic You just made a strong argument FOR Tesla, who has dominated both the largest economy and global sales. Listen, if you want to make a bear case for TSLA, hit them at valuation, which is a much easier argument, at least in my opinion.

@ReggieMiddleton @WallStCynic EVs need large subsidies to be economic to sell at prices people are willing to pay. US subsidies haven't been large enough for that so firms don't bother to compete except in CA emissions states where they have to (at a loss) in order to sell profitable ICE.

@jaredbfox @WallStCynic Note, I am not necessarily a $TSLA bull, but facts are still facts. Are you trying to say the largest economy on the planet is not "economic"? Are you saying no EU firms want to sell in this largest economy? Are you conflating an entire economic union with single countries?

@ReggieMiddleton @WallStCynic Their driving data is ~worthless (any expert in autonomy knows this). Their profits are largely or entirely government subsidies and fraud (including "full self driving" which does not exist and is unlikely to ever exist using the hardware in the cars its sold for).

@jaredbfox @WallStCynic You are saying China, I am saying globally. Two different things. Whose amassed more driving data? Who has the top selling model(s)? Who has the path to highest profitability? Listen, Tesla has plenty of risks to pick at. No need to make some up. That;s all.
