Warm reception from @timfarron, very engaged and thoughtful on actions to address sustainability challenges. It brought to mind that as our climate changes, no one should be left behind, we all have a role to play and we need to be equipped to do so. @earth_trust @LibDems

Feeling sorry for myself, full of cold but enjoying common swifts in the #dubrovnick walls last week. A real treat!

Also confidence and 'safety' as I've found. At a '23 conference talk, I overheard some participants suggesting that I'm imagining rural racism as country folk are so friendly: "They" just need to just get their boots on and get out. It's not hard". One 'small' example in many.

Barriers like socioeconomic status, cultural norms, and historical exclusion can make it difficult for some communities to engage in outdoor activities. Our groups aim to break down these barriers and make nature accessible to all. 🌿

It'd be a mistake to obsess about the number - it doesn't matter if it's exactly £28bn - but it'd be a calamity to drop the ambition. Major investment in nature & #netzero is vital for planet & prosperity. Hope @Keir_Starmer sets out clear plans today. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi…

@findingnature So good to have this research Miles. Can we explore how those most disconnected in urban environments can become connected? I think this is where places where people and nature inhabit and people have fun become important - parks, gardens, allotments. @findingnature

Lots of caveats, but this is a very big deal. The European Commission is proposing a 90 per cent cut in carbon emissions by 2040. Meanwhile, Lee Anderson is arguing coal is sustainable. businessgreen.com/news/4171011/e…

Thanks to everyone retweeting and responding to this - it's incredibly useful and inspiring to know how and where these ideas are being taught in universities around the world. Please keep RTing and sharing! Many thx.

After years of concrete measures to improve cycling—and discourage driving—cyclists now outnumber motorists on London’s streets. Since 1999, cycling has spiked 386% and driving fallen 64%; with cyclists representing 40% of surface traffic—including pedestrians—during peak hours.
