I share this Government's aspiration to protect, restore, and enhance nature.
But from locking farmers out of environmental schemes to rushing to deregulate our planning system, they are making some huge mistakes that will harm that aim.

@Prominent_Bryan Demonstrably, neither of those things were the case. Also, Norway’s first goal probably shouldn’t have stood… also… England’s penalty shouldn’t have been overturned… Also, Norway were excellent, so were their fans, England were a bit better and we won fair and square.

So England's goal shouldn't have counted (the ball touched the cable of the camera; the Norwegians saw it and complained but the ref ignored it) and then the ref disallowed a Norwegian goal for a 'foul' that happens on every corner and is never called

@timfarron Also other main parties didn't stand down & try & make it you vs fish finger & back it, that would be a farce, not on you but them. Then if many other candidates came forward, smaller parties & independents, the other parties would look a bit daft, treating democracy badly.

We have independent journalism over here, we look at the US with sadness that people over there are spoon fed lies - and some of them seem happy to believe them. Once the home of the free. Sad.

@TrollOfAngband We had a goal ruled out (rightly) and a penalty overturned (probably wrongly), Norway had a goal ruled out by VAR (marginal!) and a goal given by VAR (wrongly), I think it balanced itself out! Overall, we played a bit better than Norway… but only a bit!

@JJ86uk Don’t be silly. In 2017 I had a fish finger stand against me, it’s funny! I love the incredulity of Americans at the whacky things that British people do. You should like your country a bit more - it’s got oodles of faults, but our sense of humour isn’t one of them
