Low level disruption is the kryptonite of teaching and learning. School leaders must prioritise supporting teachers to eliminate it from classrooms.

The debate around isolation rooms has resurfaced, but if we set aside differing opinions for a moment, I think we can all agree, whether we work in education or are parents that every student deserves a disruption-free classroom as a basic standard. There are many ways to manage disruptive behaviour, and using a separate room for a short period is typically considered a last resort. All too often we take extreme stories and believe this must be the norm.
