@OrenBern @TheWillThe @VK_HM Kind of the whole point. BB he was a bad person with a shade of humanity underneath. Bcs he starts as a basically decent person trying to do bette, butwith a shade of darkness. Show is about how he goes from the former to the later, it isn't a continuity error or something

@TheWillThe @VK_HM I disagree, BCS pays a huge amount of attention to small details from BB. Half the plot is derived from a single line from BB -- “It wasn’t me it was Ignacio, did Lalo send you?” The characterization is different but again this is a huge plot point.

On Cheers, Frasier’s father was a research scientist (and deceased), his mother was a holy terror and he appeared to have no other close family and also be from New England. Frasier is a successful spinoff in part by throwing all that out and giving him a truly excellent dynamic

@EmbryEthan J6 did effectively purge anyone ethicalfrom the party, as well as the desire to pretend at ethics. Also a lot of judges, and smaller scale officials out there willing to self-corrupt for trump. Counterpoint: the party as a whole is running badly

@erisahasani3 When I was interviewing around 2009 or so one did offer that, but it was a suspiciously large part of the pitch of the program. "come here and use this computer that will be obsolete three years before you defend was not a strong sell

I wonder: why don't PhD students or postdocs get work laptops? I haven't heard that being a thing anywhere but it sounds like it should be.

When I was a PhD student I was denied for subsidized housing, despite meeting income requirements, because of student status. So really this is a good deal if you think about it
