This is hilarious lmao why are they doing D-Day in the Bronze Age

Not even in ten lifetimes could Nolan direct a battle scene this epic.
English

@Goji_Saurus @kevinismediocre it’s vfx not cgi ?
English

Inside of me there are two wolves. One of them thinks that was an insane horror sequence, the other is mad they turned Polyphemus into barely more than an animal and removed the Nobody bit.

...but the characters do see them, Hermes gives him the Molly.
DiscussingFilm@DiscussingFilm
Christopher Nolan considered depicting the Gods in a more prominent way in ‘THE ODYSSEY’ but decided against it. “It’s not so much about trying to be realistic — it’s just trying to see the gods the way these characters would have seen them.” (Source: vulture.com/article/christ…)
English

@Goji_Saurus @SamGammaCrow FUCK this is a spoiler for me but like I’m okay with knowing this because I KNEW THEY WOULDVE DONE ALTERED THIS SOMEHOW
English

@kevinismediocre The cyclops is CGI, the puppet was a placeholder for reference while filming
English

@Goji_Saurus My theory as to why is simply because Nolan opted for a life-sized animatronic, which likely had limitations in making dialogue look convincing.
English

@Goji_Saurus Well, they found a baby and an adult preserved together in a log. Not the most compelling evidence of parental care, but it's something.
English

@lawsofsacae Odysseus deciding to shoot him for no reason as a replacement of revealing his name was crazy
English

@Goji_Saurus as much as i enjoyed the movie, leaving out the Nobody convo entirely is just plain baffling. could’ve just had it start after they blinded it
English

@Edaphosaurus wait you're telling me we have fossil evidence of little lizard things caring for their young?
English

@Goji_Saurus To be fair, it is based on a real fossil, unlike the various reproductive behaviours of the amphibians.
English

@Goji_Saurus Diría que que uno podría mantener la conversación en la escena, y que esta siga siendo extremadamente tensa. No veo porque ambos aspectos tienen que estar en conflicto?
Español

@Goji_Saurus In the poem I always visualized creatures that looked like GOT (show) giants, or maybe even trolls, but I don’t mind the “Super advanced armored giant” take
English

Man seeing these tweets is so weird I thought they were way too small lol
paul@paulswhtn
For months I convinced myself this was a regular fight with regular dudes and then it happened in the movie and I was so fucking scared when I saw how big they were
English

@LucifersAether @Demdestoryer123 It's a parody account lol look at the tweets
English

@RickRaptor105 Would've been an easy fix by making the cyclops an actual character that holds conversations while the Laestrygonians are savage brutes like in the original poem but lmao
English

@Goji_Saurus I know he probably didn't want them to feel like a repeat of the giant man-eating cyclops, but it feels like Nolan wanted to "ground" them by making them just a really tall race.
If the cyclops wasn't so iconic he'd probably have turned him into just a big deformed human, too.
