Our experiments show a performance improvement close to one order of magnitude (10x) compared to the state-of-the-art serializable SFaaS systems.

We developed a dataflow system, Styx, that provides a Stateful Functions as a Service API, offers serializable guarantees by implementing a deterministic protocol, co-locates state and processing for low latency, and uses the user-transparent coarse-grained fault tolerance.
