Apache Flink won the SIGMOD Systems Award 2023! Lots of memories from when I joined the team in 2013 as a postdoc in TU Berlin, during the 2nd phase of Stratosphere. Kudos indeed go to the open-source community that made Flink the best stream processor out there!

I uploaded my talk at #flinkforward here: youtu.be/jMmEDPGeh0w TL;DW; Building scalable cloud apps is a pain in the butt. To scale out, people actually build parallel dataflow systems without knowing it. This needs to change. We are working on it.
