@FalseHeroHimmel @JNoirJ1 @113a2011 @Mangaic2 Endeavors redemption took a very long time to actually happen, and I feel like the Todoroki's subplot was the highlight of the series because of the weight and importance placed on it. It wasn't just a "one arc" thing that was wedged between a bigger ar , it was a focus.

@FalseHeroHimmel @JNoirJ1 @113a2011 @Mangaic2 It gives more time for the theme to actually marinate. Nobody likes a plot point/theme that is introduced then quickly resolved, esp something like racism.
Give it more time to cook, actually develop it more weight if you want to tackle it. That's what good writing does.

Five Guys doesn’t count as fast food because they don’t have a drive-through at any of their locations, as far as I’m aware.
It’s also a triple the price of In-N-Out Burger, and the food is not better quality.
I’d be willing to bet Five Guys doesn’t play their employees nearly as much as In-N-Out Burger, even though they are three times the price.
In-N-Out Burger is superior to Five Guys, and I will die on this hill.

It felt like he shoved it in last minute because he needed something for Shoji and Koda to do to justify their existence, rather than it being something he was interested in.

It's also revealed near the end of the series that discrimination exists, but only in rural areas.
It's bad writing because it didn't exist until it needed to exist.

Video games are a male hobby, the difference is men are fine with you being in their hobby as long as you're not annoying. It's sort of like how make up is a predominantly female hobby/industry. Men aren't bitching that you guys also get 75% market share of every clothing store either, cause we get it. Women buy more clothes than men it makes sense. Just like how men buy more video games than women do. But it's funny how only one side of this upsets you

Kimchi is the easiest way for me to get vegetables. I'm so lazy that I don't want to cook a vegetable dish, so I just buy a jar of Kimchi and eat that with whatever meal I have.

For sure Guangdong is the export/merchant part of China, which is why it has two of the tier 1 cities (Guangzhou and Shenzhen) along with Macau and Hong Kong.
But learning about Fujian was a trip. Lots of Han Taiwanese people are from Fujian too since... well they're neighbors.

I think David Tran, the guy behind Huy Fong Sriracha, might be a Hoa (Ethnic Chinese in Vietnam) might have roots in Guangdong bc a lot of Hoa are from Guangdong.
It's like... if they're a rich Chinese guy, they're either from or have ties to Guangdong or Fujian lol.

This is funny bc the first immigrants who migrated to America are from the Yue language family branch, but it's Taishanese, not Cantonese (Guangdong hua). Tbf in fairly certain most Taishanese know Cantonese.
But yeah Cantonese has big rep bc of immigrant and Hong Kong.

The way that Americans talk about Cantonese you would think that they are the largest subgroup of Han Chinese when native Canton speakers are actually a minority within their own province of Guangdong but Americans make it seem like they make up half of China’s population when it’s more like 5% at most.
