If I understand his numbers, you’d need 67 new nuclear energy plants by 2030 just for AI data centres in the U.S. alone Conventional ideas about protecting the planet or environment are woefully weak and pathetic faced with this - and ‘offsetting’ is nonsensical at this scale

Dear SIA, I really had wanted to go to your conf in #BuffaloNY, where my Great Grandfather had worked the @TownofTonawanda lumber yards for 7 years before finding that migrants were unwelcome. But it's now far too dangerous to enter USA. Chicago was my last time, 2019.

The #A9 crossing Loch Fleet, north of Dornoch. This stretch was completed in 1816 and is part of the NC500 route. The modern bridge was opened in December 1988 and was built by Fairclough on a design by Halcrow. #archives #scotland #nc500
