The Balgreen Tunnel, Edinburgh. Beautiful paintings of the wildlife found along the Water of Leith. It's stunning!

Out in the woodlands this morning with P2s from @SighthillS smelling the wild garlic, finding bugs and walking along the ‘coca cola’ river.

Out with the walking group along the Water of Leith and back through the Balgreen tunnel. We had a gentle exercise session in the Saughton bandstand, strength and balance exercises to prevent falls in later life. So good to feel the warm sunshine again 🌞

A sunny morning down at Coalie Park. We planted bulbs, litter picked and painted over tagging on local businesses. We also saw the opening of the newly pedestrianised Sandport Bridge.

We are very pleased to welcome our Moray House placement student Leo from Chile to the education team. Today is his first day in waders and first river study in the Pentlands.

Thanks to the fabulous group of geocachers that came out to Ford's Road today, joined by some of our own volunteers. Despite not being able to wade due to the water level, and the area looking quite clean, we still gathered a massive haul, including a troublesome washing machine!

Although it all turned grey for the tea break. We continued our spring clean of the river wading the Murrayfield stretch. Plenty of rubbish big and small found locally. @Edinburgh_CC

A busy morning for the Tuesday Team! They rebuilt the fence around our meadow in the Dells which had been vandalised, as well as creating a barrier to prevent children wandering down a steep slope🔨🌳

A first wade of the year from Gorgie Road to Longstone Island, whilst volunteers also swept the local area for rubbish. End result almost three ton bags worth of rubbish removed to keep the enivornmemt healthy. @Edinburgh_CC

We’re pleased to welcome back Stirling Uni environmental scientists today for their annual field studies looking at water quality on the river and its tributaries. The data they produce gives us a great insight into what’s going on under the surface.

A sunny Sunday session ahead doing a clean up and path work session at Redbraes.

An architectural drawing of the Sinclair Fountain, 1864. Catherine Sinclair (1800-1864) wrote children's books and gifted drinking fountains to Edinburgh. This fountain stood at the corner of Lothian Road and Princes Street. Parts of it can still be found by the Water of Leith.

A lean green litter picking team from the renewable energy secrion of @VirginMoney were out with us this morning at Stockbridge. A successful wade from the Deanhaugh path to St Bernard's well removing nine bags of rubbish from the river.

Thursday 5th of March and we kick off our spring clean in the river. We have a small team from Virgin money lending a hand to wade the Stockbridge section.
