Great work by the pupils from Balerno HS this morning! Despite the area around the school looking remarkably clean, they still managed to pick up 5 bags worth of litter to stop it making its way into the river. Thanks again!

A wade and walkway session down at Bonnington for our volunteers. The sunny spring weather has encouraged the nettlles to explode by the walkway. So a quick trim back to kept the walkway width. Plenty of litter removed to keep the river clean. @Edinburgh_CC @walkingscotland

A great morning with staff from @pingidentity. For the forth year in a row they've been out protecting and improving the river. Half the group took to the river removing rubbish, whilst the rest removed non native snowberry from Colinton Dells and built a brash fence.

Thank you to everyone who came to the Plant Sale, was very busy to start with, hopefully you found some lovely plants...we raised around £2,300 maybe more as we still have a few bits to sell over the weekend, pop in if you missed out.

Edinburgh scenes: more from the bakers of Dean village. ‘In the sweat of thy brow, thou will eat bread’ 1619. The walk down (or up) Bell’s Brae is a steep one, but the sights at the end, in the village itself and along the Water of Leith, are stunning. @WOLCT #Edinburgh

Thanks to the brilliant group of students from Fettes College, who were with us all day at the Rocheid Path. We trimmed back encroaching greenery from the path, refreshed the dead hedges and build a new one, removed graffiti & waded for litter in the afternoon. Great work folks!

Whilst Dan, our river ranger is working with students from Fettis College, as part of their community action day on the Rocheid path Johnny had a more relaxed morning getting a tour of the campus and learning the history of the school. #everydayisachoolday
