valve doesnt have a history of taking away games period. i can get any game on any store including with no drm period. i can even pirate it in the worst case... period. Sony case is nowhere near the same thing as pc

John Linneman - and many other people - keep repeating this but it's still inaccurate. Valve sells game licenses. Period.
In very rare instances Valve also removed games from personal Steam libraries or permabanned longtime users from their account.

This was Valves plan with Half Life 3. Valve originally planned to release HL3 as a major flagship launch title alongside the new Steam Machine in early 2026 to drive system sales. But that didn't know when the hardware release due to prices.
