Yesterday, I was sharing plates of food in my street. I met a woman and her two kids going to fetch water. I gave them three plates. She refused. I thought she was joking. I don’t want that.” I told her I didn’t have cash on me. She asked me to describe my house. This morning, she came. So I gave her ₦5,000. She looked at me and said, “Aunty, the food in that pack yesterday is worth more than ₦5,000 ooh.” Then she started calculating. “The malt alone is ₦1,200 × 3 = ₦3,600. Add rice and meat… that’s like ₦20,000.” She refused to collect the 5k. I told her to wait for me outside my gate. She has been waiting since. Walahi she will sleep there eh..
