On my birthday, after my mom prayed for me, she spoke to me about patience. She reminded me of a time when I couldn’t afford a single pair of jeans. I used to visit one of my uncles every week, help him with chores, clean his apartment, wash his clothes and his car, just hoping he would give me one of his faded jeans. Most times, I would leave with nothing.
She told me to look at my life now. I can now afford to buy jeans whenever I want, and not the faded ones anymore. Then she said something that really stayed with me:
“Time has a way of making things better. Just stay humble and keep making efforts to improve yourself.”
