@ChrisMedlandF1 The irony is this rule was brought in from '96 onwards when Williams were the benchmark at the time and for the likes of Forti, Minardi etc to qualify. The gap over the entire '23 field covered only the first few rows of the grid back then. Amazing how the sport has evolved.

The stewards have given Logan Sargeant permission to start the race as he set satisfactory times in practice. His fastest lap in Q1 was deleted for crossing the pit entry line, and it meant he ended up outside 107% as he didn't complete a timed one after that #F1 #SaudiArabianGP
