Wilfredo and his mother are originally from Venezuela with a pending asylum case. ICE is now trying to deport him alone without legal representation to Ecuador—a country he's never been to and does not know a single person. He is temporarily staying with his mom's former boss in Houston, Texas.

Tonight, Republican leadership KILLED my amendment to FISA 702, one that would have protected Tennesseans' privacy and demanded real accountability from the FBI. Let me explain:  1) A 2025 DOJ Inspector General report exposed that the FBI ran a secret querying tool for months. 2) A "query" is a search where agents type in an American's name, phone number, or email and pull their private communications collected under FISA without a warrant. 3) For months, the FBI ran these searches with no recorded justification, no attorney or supervisory approval and no DOJ audits. 4) My amendment would have forced a full public accounting and required briefings for every Member of Congress. Your government searched your communications in secret and tonight leadership just made sure no one has to answer for it. See it for yourself:
