Republicans seem to have latched on to this unlimited pasta messaging point, so let’s go through this again.
The problem with the SAVE Act isn’t simply the photo ID requirement to vote in person or absentee. (GA already requires this.)
The problem with the SAVE Act is that it requires documents to which many citizens don’t have ready access (U.S. passport, birth certificate) to REGISTER to vote.
It also places an even higher burden of proof on those who have changed their names since they were born (e.g. 80% of married women).
Republicans can talk about unlimited pasta passes all they want, but all it shows is that they are either being unserious, disingenuous, or haven’t read their own bill.

@rhallnj Don’t forget how people like Brooke Rollins and other republicans bragged about cutting food assistance for 4.5M families. Now 2/3 of the country can’t afford groceries. I’m not defending people who commit crimes, just saying it’s all related.
