The "Africa Rising" narrative has become a dangerous mask for systemic rot in Africa.
For too long, we have been told to market the continent as a land of milk and honey to attract investors and tourists, but this toxic positivity is a direct disservice to the 1.4 billion people living the reality.
When we pretend everything is normal, we are gaslighting our own citizens who navigate inflation, crumbling infrastructure, and state-sponsored insecurity every day.
This silence doesn't build the continent, it shields the regimes and politicians who profit from the status quo. They use our collective patriotism as a silencer to avoid accountability.
This generation is not the one to lie to the world. True pan-Africanism isn't about PR, it's about radical transparency.
We must bare our problems in the open, not to shame the continent, but to engineer actual solutions. You cannot fix a house while pretending the foundation isn't cracking.
Transparency is the ultimate act of revolution. We need to stop prioritizing looking good over being good. Baring the truth is the only way to break the shield holding back African development.
