James, you've been in the industry long enough to know that foreign music is copyrighted in tandem with Uganda's own

@jamesonen Mr. Onen , have you learnt that uganda has signed intl treaties for this new amendment to capture and collect royalties for even intl music ? No music will be played for free ever again . Playing local or intl will be your choice

This country isn’t real man 😭

@jamesonen What you don't seem to understand is that even the foreign music must be paid for, and now foreign artistes have a foundation to seek compensation within Uganda. It's why countries with such laws have dedicated music channels. This is a very uneducated opinion

@jamesonen This only applies to lazy women in Africa. For the Women abroad life is completely different. You do all the chores, raise your children, work a full time job and a man still demands financial contribution from you. That's why you hear women abroad call marriage slavery.

Artists are about to learn how disposable they are to the public. I’m not saying this to be mean. But their sense of self importance is interesting. When all stations and clubs switch to foreign music it will be the artist’s offering to waive their claim to royalties to have their songs played. Squeezing TVs and radios for money when even the big players are downsizing due to the tight economy will turn out to have not been a wise strategy. Let’s see how this goes. One more thing. The reason it is the Sheba’s and Kenzo’s pushing this law is because when you actually think about it, it is designed to only benefit the big artists. Push comes to shove, maybe a radio or tv station will have no choice but to pay royalties to play a hit song from a major artist who has used their large social media accounts to popularize their latest hit. But if you are a no name artist just starting out, with no social media footprint to generate interest in your music, you will be laughed out of every radio and tv station if you demand money for them to have the honor of playing your song that no one knows. Hahaha.

An African YouTube channel conducted an independent IQ test in Lagos, Nigeria. The average was 73.4, and the median was 69.7.

Eh akasajja kali serious maani......💯💯
