Just got Stream Survivors’ Steam page approved! So exited! Link in bio. It would mean the world if you drop a wishlist/like for visibility. #gamedev #indiegame

I told myself i would try Elder Scrolls Online again after a big update so i reinstalled it, but what the hell is this new tutorial ending? Either this is a giant bug or they gave up on the game

Hey! The demo for my little Twitch-integrated incremental game is finally live You can unlock all the commands (!catapult, !pray, !eat, !sleep, etc.) plus the tailor and merchant. Forge, jewelry, armory crafting + raids are still locked for now. I'm doing this solo after my day job and was running low on steam, so I decided to release it even if it's not perfect yet. I've already spent quite a bit on assets and tools, if this gets some buzz and traction that could lead to a tiny Kickstarter or Patreon push, I'd give it 100%. No pressure though. If not, it'll be a cool portfolio piece and I'll move to the next idea. Thanks for any support or feedback! Try the demo → store.steampowered.com/app/4194230/St…

I got 18M views on YouTube Shorts in 28 days and 28,000 Steam wishlists in 9 days. I'm a solo dev with no audience, no budget, and no publisher. Here's everything I learned about making shorts that actually go viral:

One could argue that they work as intended: they want the next league of legends, the next fortnite. High risk / High reward. Go all in chasing the golden goose. The amount of money that live services generate once you get the skins flowing is absurd. Though your scope point is 100% truthful

I think it's the economics of AAA live-service games that are broken. Properly scoped, managed, and marketed Single Player games seem perfect capable of profitibility (i.e. KCD2, E33, Black Myth Wukong, Mewgenics, Schedule 1, etc. etc.)

I don't know if you've noticed, but there's a wave of mass psychosis rolling through tech Twitter, very similar to what we experienced in spring 2023 and spring 2020 (interesting that the periodicity is exactly 3 years) But the vibes are much darker now than they were last time

@Taikwy I would go so far as to say it looks better than the green floor / green enemies. Better contrast makes enemies more clear

Here's something most new game devs miss: your first game is NOT your masterpiece, it's your bootcamp! Over 28,000 devs launch just 1 game and then quit, often missing out on ALL the lessons that come with shipping game 2, 3, 10... The biggest lesson? Experience compounds. You learn scope, estimating timelines, design feedback, marketing, basically you get better at literally every aspect of making a game the more games you make. One common misconception is how some devs just find success instantly with their first game. While this can happen it is extremely rare. For example I remember years ago hearing the conversation of how Angry Birds was such a hit and came out of nowhere, but that's because most people don't actually know they made 50(!) games before that one! Personally I made 40+ Flash Games before my first Steam release where it finally made enough money to make a living. If I had stopped after game #1 (or #10) I never would have become an indie dev. So my advice to you is publish more games! Every game you make improves your skills which in turn improves the odds that your next game will find success! Best of luck!

@draynilla it may have started as 5v5 but dropped to 3v3 due to poor performance 🤔

HIGHGUARD THOUGHTS FROM A 7200 HOUR APEX LEGENDS PLAYER - Optimization is TERRIBLE. Dropping down to 40 FPS with a 4080 is NOT fun at all & honestly taints the entire gameplay experience - Map is too big for 3v3. No scarcity of loot, and it has unique POI's, BUT it just feels WAY too big. Maps would have been better suited for 5v5, 6v6, 10v10, 3v3v3, anything but just straight 3v3 - Characters are bland and dull, the kits simply arent the most fun and there is forsure a balancing issue. Most of the wardens just arent viable and feel clunky - Too many systems in the game. It can be confusing and overwhelming for a new player and def needs to be simplified / polished up. For example, instead of going out and MINING currency, have teams spawn in with a set amount. If they do dmg, get kills, objectives, etc, it increases that currency. Almost similar to an evo shield in apex - Merchant / shop system is unique but can be overwhelming, tutorial did the best it could but some things were still missing clarity. Armor system and utility slot could have both been explained better - No holster :( felt like it couldve been such a fire mechanic - Not sure who the game is truly made for? Not sure who the audience is? Not one gamer said we needed a game like this and was LONGING for it. - No FOV slider on console - Gunplay does feel solid, when youre not dropping frames. The team fights you experience are actually very fun BUT the optimization can really leave a sour taste in your mouth if you lose the gunfight because of dropped frames - The guns themselves are fun to use and can pack a punch. Shooting enemies does feel good when youre above 60fps - Free battlepass is a HUGE W - Mounts are unique and neither bad nor good. Can sometimes feel clunky on MnK tho - Forced toggle crouch in 2026? Why?? No toggle ADS (for the freaks) why??? - Monetization seems fair but honestly not too many people are gonna be around to spend money in the first place 😭😭 - If they waited another year to cook this game up (released in 2027 with the content they have planned in the roadmap) this couldve looked a lot different Overall a 4/10 im sorry #Highguard

Just a quick prototype I wanted to share. I would like to make a roguelite with the mining and exploration system like the old Dungeon Keeper 1 a game I love so much. #gamedev #indiegame #dugeonkeeper
