Today, I announced that our @NYCCouncil is advancing a proactive housing agenda to make it easier to build more homes across the five boroughs. Our proposed updates to the City’s Construction Codes could help unlock up to 35,000 new homes on small lots. We've also created a new Council Advisory Group on Housing Affordability that will help shape long-term solutions.

The city moved to close another Midtown homeless facility, Mainchance Drop-in, in June. Mainchance fought off closure in court 2 years ago under Mayor Adams. This time, DHS alleges the drop-in breached their contract by turning people away. The center has vowed to fight again.
