A second credit rating agency has now revised its outlook for NYC from “stable” to “negative.” In its statement, @krollbondrating notes that the City’s current budget proposal “reveals a materially larger structural imbalance than previously reflected.” This is not a downgrade—but it is a warning. Importantly, New York City’s economy remains strong, tax revenues are solid, and our bonds continue to be safe and secure. Taken together with last week’s negative outlook from @moodysratings, and similarly strong language from @SPGlobalRatings, the message from the rating agencies is unmistakable: NYC must address its structural imbalance—and do so without relying on rainy-day reserves to close recurring budget gaps. I look forward to working with partners in City and State government to deliver a budget that restores confidence, strengthens our fiscal foundation, and puts NYC on a truly sustainable path.

50 SF residents hit the lottery last year They lived in rent-controlled units and their landlords paid >$100k/unit to get them out They took, on average, $76k to their new homes The former tenant of 2121 Divisadero scored $250k all to themselves! And the best part?

What does SEQR reform really mean? If communities say yes to housing and infrastructure, we let them build. Let's break it down:

If you own a home with a basement, attic, or backyard, chances are you’ve thought about using it to earn a little extra income or as space for a loved one. We want to make it as easy (and affordable) as possible for you to do that. NYC recently legalized ADUs — but for too many New Yorkers, they’re still tied up in bureaucracy and expense. We're fixing that. Our new toolkit at nyc.gov/aduforyou includes preapproved building plans and a financing calculator so you can get right to building. If we want New York to remain a city for everyone, we have to make it easier for homeowners to stay here. ADU for You will do just that.

@ForbesTutt10128 We have a severe housing shortage. We’re short at least 500k units in the 5 boroughs.
