@RandyGoat He problem is people who have minimum wage jobs have to be on food stamps. Instead of their employers paying them a living wage. It’s a kickback. Trump and McDonald’s are just one of the contributors of this problem. But it’s all of them.
This may be an unpopular opinion but EBT is the main reason our groceries are so high.
Without EBT grocery stores would have to actually compete for your purchase instead of just being the closest for EBT users.
Does everyone understand this?
For 90 years, overtime has paid time-and-a-half.
Prices of everything have gone up, but overtime has stayed the same.
It’s time to change that.
I’m writing a bill to make overtime pay twice your hourly wage.
@patternote@American1068@TruthHurtsDemz@em_Lazzy@grok Youre arguing non sequiturs at this point. Going from "a calculus error" to "socialism disproven" only demonstrates a profound miseducation of what youre arguing against. Like most of this conversation. Im gonna mute this
The fact we are going to have our first trillionaire before everyone has access to clean drinking water is proof our current system is not for the greater good but for the greedy.
@Lurk24k@American1068@TruthHurtsDemz@em_Lazzy@grok So you think you can do economics without calculus? You also can't divide by 0, and that's elementary.
I just spent hours with you on his make theory of value and the ideas that flow from it. I'm tired, maybe we can pick this up next time.
@patternote@choward064@alluringmedia You mean the inflation caused by a global pandemic and Trump spending?
That Presudent Biden brought back under 3% within a year?
Bush destroyed Clinton's economy.
Obama fixed Bush's mess.
Trump destroyed Obama's economy.
Biden fixed Trump’s mess and now Trump has destroyed what Biden fixed.
The biggest lie that Republicans have gotten away with is that they are better for the economy.
@Lurk24k@American1068@TruthHurtsDemz@em_Lazzy@grok What's to understand? Guy thought derivatives are a capitalist conspiracy. And it's objectively proven wrong in real world deadly experiments. I used to be a "democratic socialist" too when j wasyoung and idealistic, real life made me a capitalist
@Lurk24k@American1068@TruthHurtsDemz@em_Lazzy Labor is worth much less without the productivity gains of the machine, which also costs money, in part due to other people's labor. Then the building, the taxes, being able to pay wages when things are slow.
@American1068@patternote@TruthHurtsDemz@em_Lazzy You’re describing productivity gains, not where value comes from. The machine doesn’t create value by itself—it transfers its own value (from the labor that made it) while living labor still does the actual value-creation.
In fact, if i have to pay the gardener more than x amount, it makes sense to do it myself. That decision is weighed against the value of my own time. So charging me too much would cause me to not create the opportunity in the first place.
There is no way someone working on my property is entitled to the resulting value. The value of labor is defined what people are willing pay before they would rather not bother
@patternote@American1068@TruthHurtsDemz@em_Lazzy yes, it’s your asset legally—but the increase in value comes from the gardener’s labor. The fact that you capture the extra $10k isn’t because you created it, but because you own the property. Ownership lets you appropriate the surplus.
Youre just describing market dependance
I like the option of voting for different policies and advocating for them, while choosing to live in lower tax jurisdictions.
No one needs to have their upkeep from the govt, it's literally not their job to do those things. But letting people work without every dollar being immediately taxed, would create tons of opportunity
@patternote@penguinusa1776@Speak_my_mind@MatrixMysteries@GinaZippiHicks Not intentional, but if U hate it so much, that's the only 2 Other options in society.
It's 2026 & folks still got 2 have 1/2 of their upkeep come from the gov bc most Voters been asleep in pushing politics 4 livable wages,
which would make most of those programs not needed.
A Section 8 worker describes what she sees.
Rent fully covered. Groceries paid. Monthly government checks.
“And at the end of the year—they STILL get tax refunds”
What does it say about the system when everything’s paid for—yet refunds still go out to those who NEVER paid in?
@American1068@Lurk24k@TruthHurtsDemz@em_Lazzy Marx believed lots of silly things.
For example 👇
@grok what are the real world implications of Marx claim that dy/dx is a contradiction? Can it tie into his other theories?
US troops are not in Germany to protect Germany. They’re there because the US needs bases to conduct operations beyond the North American continent. If Trump withdraws them, he will harm the United States, not Germany.
It’s absurd how many Americans fail to grasp this.
It's not true because if no one buys your labor, it ain't worth shit. Likewise, if a hire a gardener to deck out my curb appeal and my house is worth 10k more bec of it, the gardener doesn't suddenly deserve the $10k value his work created. He worked on my asset, and got paid whatever rate they charge. The rest is mine bec it's my house. Same for any business.
@American1068@patternote@TruthHurtsDemz@em_Lazzy This quite literally makes zero sense. Because the buyers ability to buy comes from thier ability to sell their labor. And the product being bought also wouldnt exist without labor. This is becoming boring.
Ok all the innovations you use every day were developed in capitalist countries.
Not only is capitalism better at innovation, it's also hands down the best method for bringing those innovations to the masses. Even China started doing better becoming more capitalist. Communism devours it's own children (USSR, China are 2 strong examples. No, you can't have non dictatorial communism. It's authoritarian by definition).
@patternote@American1068@TruthHurtsDemz@em_Lazzy Which are not exclusive to capitalism or even "the best" incentive. The vest incentive is survival. And all youve done is confuse capitalism with the desperation it creates.
@patternote@American1068@TruthHurtsDemz@em_Lazzy No. There are 7 million advertised jobs. Which is not only a low number relative to the seeking market but the assumption that all of those postings are there to be filled is also incorrect. Many places are posting jobs with no intention of filling them. See: ghost jobs
@KingBowserV@Whatamess24@alluringmedia It was 13.3 trillion jan 2017. But it did go from 8.2 to 13.3 under Obama, which is a much bigger relative increase. But it seems that Bush, Clinton and reagan are guilty of the same
@patternote@Whatamess24@alluringmedia You're right going from 15T to 19T over 2020 isn't that bad.
You know what is bad, is going from 4T to 15T over the course of 2019.
We literally never produced more oil than under Biden in 2023 and 2024. Just an absurdly wrong claim to make that he stifled production
@patternote@American1068@TruthHurtsDemz@em_Lazzy Again; only labor creates value. Isolate labor from any other factor and only labor will create value. Nothing else on its own can do so without labor. And capitalists literally punish innovation. We literally have scientists vanishing this year over energy innovations.
