On Memorial Day, we honor and remember those who served our country but never made it home. I’m proud to represent Military City USA and am deeply grateful to everyone who signs up to serve.

Colbert got cancelled because CBS’ owner wanted to suck up to Trump. Over and over, billionaires are auctioning off our 1st Amendment. This isn’t about the rights of a TV host. It’s about all our rights to live in a country where the president doesn’t dictate who says what.

Just this week: Republicans pulled a vote on Trump’s $1 billion ballroom. Republicans pulled a vote on Trump’s illegal war with Iran. They’re feeling the pressure and know they could lose these votes.  Keep it up.

Getting fair pay for working on a holiday is about dignity. As we gather on Monday to honor those who served and sacrificed for our nation and spend time with family, I’ll also be thinking about the millions of people — including many in Delaware — working through the holiday. They’re missing moments that matter with the people they love to keep our country moving. That’s why the Holiday Pay Act that I introduced this week with @RepCasar would ensure that anyone working on a federal holiday is paid time-and-a-half.

Republicans just prevented the House from voting on a War Powers Resolution because they knew it would pass. Mike Johnson has cemented his legacy as the speaker who handed the most corrupt president ever complete control over the House. Republicans can run from Trump’s disastrous war, but they can’t hide. Thousands are dead and gas and grocery prices are up, and progressives will not stop demanding votes on War Powers Resolution until the war is actually ended.

This morning Jeff Bezos said raising his taxes "won't help" working Americans. Let's look at the math: Bezos paid Trump $40 million. Then Trump cut Amazon’s taxes by $8 billion... And that same bill kicked millions of Americans off health care.

Today, the House will vote on a War Powers Resolution to stop Trump's war with Iran. Last week, we were just one vote short of passing a similar resolution. We have to keep pushing and speaking out.

The awful and deadly attack on the Islamic Center of San Diego is a horrific reminder that far too many Muslim Americans live in fear of rising Islamophobia. Hate has no place in our country. We have to condemn it in all its forms.
