can't recall the last time I responded to a cold email but this one got me... why...?
1) they mention 2 of my tracks and say nice things. sure I don't believe they really listened to them but still... nice personalization.
2) they have exactly what I and any other wannabe artist want - distribution.
3) they mention 2 objections I will definitely have and can offer proof (they also attached a couple of screenshots to help counter those points too)
4) there's no big sell. there isn't even a clear call to action. but they got my attention and now I'm curious. of course I know this will cost something. but I want to know more.
5) to get the email address they sent this to, they must've gone to my site. it's not an email I use for registering for stuff or to get newsletters. someone made some effort (maybe is was an AI agent).
anyhow... will share what the deal is when I hear back from them.

@ZackPolanski - this is magnificent. Three things I can’t deny:
1. It is a video.
2. You are wearing a jacket.
3. Then you aren’t.
4. Then you are again.
Unfortunately that’s where the accuracy ends.
A few corrections for you:
Peter Thiel is not our CEO. Alex Karp is — and has been for 20+ years. (A lifelong Democrat, for anyone keeping score.)
We are not a “spyware company.” Spyware is malware. Malware is illegal. Calling a software company spyware is, technically, defamatory (don’t worry, we are not suing).
We don’t build surveillance technology. We build software that helps organisations make sense of data they already hold. Not the same thing.
There was no “private tour” of our HQ. There was a public photocall to which the media came. Hence, why there are so many pictures of the event.
Our MOD contract is not “the biggest defence contract in UK history.” Ajax armoured vehicles = £5.5bn. Dreadnought submarines = £31bn. We’re grateful for the work, but let’s keep a sense of scale.
We have no more access to NHS data than Microsoft has to the contents of your Word documents. I think you know this by now.
We don’t have access to patient medical records. Same story.
I agree that “nothing matters more than our health.” Which makes it worth reminding you of what Palantir’s software is actually doing in the NHS right now:
->110,000 additional operations
->15% fewer delayed hospital discharges
->7% more patients finding out within 28 days whether they have cancer
Respect again for what you did with that jacket.

I actually got jumped on that road once, kind of a funny story. Had a few pints and walked out and up it, and about 5-6 masked yoofs follow and surrounded me. All the others were behind me but one guy got in my face and asked me if I had the time. I told him to fuck off and then he asked me where I was from and I said ‘manchester’.
Manchester surprised him and he took his eyes off me so I threw a hook & landed it really clean, guy folded like a chair. Obviously I’m not John wick and can’t stand and bang with 5 guys so I immediately run for the road but get tripped up & take a few kicks before a car comes around the corner and they all run off.
At the time I was working for the NCA, DV security clearance & all that stuff, so when I reported it the police had to interview me. Police officer at one point asks me how it had impacted me mentally and I told him I’ve never felt better. I was a 28 year old sedentary data analyst that hadn’t been to boxing practice in a decade and still managed to lay a guy out and then got a massive adrenaline rush. Told him I don’t think I’ve ever felt better in my life.
Officer closed his little notebook, looked me dead seriously in the eye and said ‘yeah I’m not gonna write that down’

@TimurNegru No.
But if we have to go eco friendly and have electric I’d rather they were in something that looks like this than the characterless cars of today.
English

@paulmetcalfe Do you think the nowadays engines are better than the one on this car?

STAY IN YOUR LANE. Blinders. On. Double. Down. Never let them see your next move. When they swivel you swerve. Bamboozle them with your creativity. With your positivity. Who gives a f*ck. Being happy is hot. No one likes a little bitch. Don’t explain. Never complain. Go left then make a hard right. Keep running till you’ve got to walk. Walk till you’ve got to crawl. Just don’t stop. Anyone who’s talking down on you is already behind you. Wish them well. Do not look back.

£200 a night 😭
Dear god, this is meant to be scandalous spending for our prime minister??
Grifty@TheGriftReport
Keir Starmer jetted off for a four-day luxury family Easter break at a £200-a-night four-star boutique hotel in Valencia, complete with rooftop bar and pool. While lounging in the sun and sipping café con leche in a public square, Trump was issuing ultimatums to “obliterate” Iran’s power plants and warning Tehran they’d be “living in Hell.” Starmer stayed put despite the escalating crisis, five years after he slammed Boris Johnson for holidaying as Kabul fell, declaring: “You cannot coordinate an international response from the beach.” Macron spent the weekend on emergency calls with Trump and Iran’s president. Starmer? Not so much. Priorities
