A lot of people ask how @affordihome works and what are our core services, so here's a high level overview. We work exclusively for buyers. That means we're always on your side of the table. There are two core things we do: 1) We run bespoke property searches tailored to each client's requirements. You tell us what you're looking for (budget, location, type, intended use etc.) and we find it across Spain, Italy, Portugal and France. 2) And we advise and support you through the entire buying process. Purchasing abroad comes with different legal systems, languages and processes. We stay with you from search to signed. If you want to talk through your situation before committing to anything, we also offer consultations. A lot of people find that's the best place to start. We have 25,000+ newsletter subscribers covering Mediterranean property every week. If you're not ready to buy yet but want to stay informed, that's free and the link is in bio. Hope this helps make things clear and I'm always a DM away in case of any questions.

40 years old and I just bought my first pair of Timberland boat shoes. Now teach me: socks or no socks? And do they survive 30C / 86F days?

What's better than the Swiss Alps? The Italian Alps. Same mountains, half the price, better food. Found this estate in Valchiavenna, a few km from the Swiss border. €1.5M ($1.76M): - 7 chalets (3 fully renovated to A3 energy class, 4 more to develop) - 7.4 acres of land, 2 hectares of which is chestnut grove and 1 hectare is berry farm (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, currants) - a working agritourism with sauna and hot tubs - a small organic food brand called Hunum (honey, beer, juices, natural cosmetics) Lake Como is just south, Lugano (CH) ~1h 50, Milan airports under 2h. St. Moritz, Bormio and Livigno for skiing 1-2.5h depending which one. Same view as St. Moritz across the border, but way cheaper.

@TimurNegru And better view of the Alps, considering that when you watch them, the sun is always behind you.

@TimurNegru I love it. I’m working right now on a thread on this topic… I’ll post it tomorrow. The thing is, as much as I love Mediterranean life, the alpine life is charming, elegant and very quiet. It’s a different Italy.

This looks amazing but I am biased about this area ! Living near the Swiss border opens you up to travelling by train across mainland Europe I have been to Liechtenstein, Austria, Slovakia, Czechia & Croatia so far from Como SG I also have travelled around Switzerland which has a great train network Brilliant location ❤️

@TimurNegru Incredible! I bet that from an investment perspective it could be both life-changing & super attractive - money, ROI wise - projects, investments.

@TimurNegru Well it's a big commitment, I think you can pull it off. Around here the surfers saw you in those you would get laughed at mercilessly but you're Irish you can take it!

Only thing breaking my Swiss suburbian spring bliss is: SPANISH-SPEAKING NEIGHBOURS blasting music at high volume each weekend 😩 When I lived in Spain I had issues like this ALL THE TIME. I lived in Barcelona 6 months and changed 2 apartments and would've changed a 3rd time had I stayed longer. Mostly because of noise during night time. When I came back to Zurich in 2021 and was again able to enjoy some silence in the night and sleep in peace it was such a relief. The "intolerant" side of me definitely finding more peace in Switzerland than in Southern Europe 😂

Today I saw a cat climbing a tree to escape a dog, visited my alpaca neighbours, and copped fresh marmelade from a high trust open shop 🇨🇭 Naturemaxxed

I must have seen the Basílica de la Sagrada Família 4 times in my life. Each time I have been in different periods of my life. Once as a young boy with my family, one time with my school, another with my best mate and this time with my girlfriend. Every time I've been here I've been left in awe. Just think about the number of hours people have dedicated to building it, the amount of different people who have helped build it and the amount of money invested...

Everyone praises the Swiss Alps. Almost nobody talks about the Italian ones. Which is strange. The Dolomites are on the Italian side. Same Mont Blanc and Matterhorn views. Better food. Better wine. Top-tier healthcare. Real working towns where Italians actually live year-round. And property at a third of the Swiss price. One of the most underpriced retirement lifestyles in Europe. Here are 11 alpine towns to actually retire to. 6 in the Dolomites, 5 in the Western Alps. 🧵
