@fkasummer Well, I'm a big believer in defining it operationally/experimentally. So if you just talk authoritatively about it from any stance and I'll have no experiment which can distinguish between whether you're bluffing or whether you've come up with a convincing solution.

A Berkeley history professor said he’s gone from assigning 100 pages of reading per week to 35. Another “said the earliest version of the…course he taught required seven full books, while his most recent iteration exclusively consisted of excerpts.” “We are now reaching a crisis point where if the number (of pages) goes down further, it’s unclear to me whether my discipline of history can really be taught,” the first one said.

Mathematically its pretty involved, generally you want to find a root in an equation containing elliptic integrals. I tried to just approximate it, but that didnt work well. Fable just solved it outright via Newton's method + bunch of different cases for varius branches.

So everyone was showing off a bunch of sims made with Claude Fable. I thought I'd try too. A year ago I was nerdsniped figuring out how to find a projection function from a point to the screen around a black hole. Couldnt do it before, but Fable just oneshotted it😅

@coltoncrawdaddy It's all been a test, we were supposed to call his bluff and write DRY, Clean object-oriented code all along. Tomorrow is his reveal that sinking star was written that way and that Jai is actually extremely object oriented (a very well-kept secret by the beta testers).

Lately I've been trying to make a nonlinear wave equation simulation in curved space. That took way too much time, but I finally got something that seems to work. The wave equation behaves similarly to a liquid, and it's orbiting a Kerr-Newman black hole. Wave accretion disk?👀🤨

It's surprising how interesting the problem of rendering these things properly can be... libraries for flowlines (or line integral convolution) usually just don't care about temporal coherence :'(

Had fun optimizing this flow sim — managed to get it running at realtime-ish speed. Think I can still squeeze out a bit of performance however. ✒️

I did Campaign mission design, Zombies gameplay systems+multiplayer spawns+objectives/modes+killstreaks, Battle Royale items+vehicles layout. All took huge amounts of scripting
I was dinged by bosses that I was "too much of a generalist"🤣

I really like it for the longer posts.
The articles are cool but the engagement on them is weird? I had a lot of fun writing this one (I can't say hello in fewer than 280 characters, and being able to mix images + text is awesome) but it got zero engagement so idk. I've heard people say "articles are great" so probably the post just sucked for Twitter format x.com/physbuzz2/stat…
The analytics are worthwhile. The fact that there's a reply boost is gross, I guess I excuse it by the fact I've found contracting opportunities through X so it's paid for itself. That like insta-outweighs any negative of being called a tool for having a blue checkmark 😆 If it weren't for that I'd probably be a lot more on the fence about it.
