On my way to a government office with my social security card, birth certificate, passport, driver’s license and marriage license in hand, and laughing at an imaginary scenario in which I get into a horrific accident and they need to ID me.

I'm in part 3 of the interview process for this company. They gave me the equivalent of a take-home quiz. It's just doing some responsive stuff, and then the same javascript question with prime numbers. They said they want to see how I do on a daily project. Let's go

I had a virtual interview yesterday. It went really well! they want me to come in on Wed to see the place and meet everyone. I don't want to get ahead of myself but I think this sounds promising! I'll keep you all posted!

I'm now building an online store for a dance studio. The idea is for people to sign up and pay for classes online, get a QR to access the class, have an access control system, and a report of the revenue generated. This is the first draft of the landing page. #100Devs

I'm feeling very hard on myself right now. I did my test yesterday, 10 questions, answered 9 of them, and skipped the C# one. Actually felt proud that I got the SQL questions done, but I kind of hate myself for not doing the C# one, and possibly throwing away this opportunity.

I had my first official phone screen yesterday, and I felt really good about it. The guy said I would hear back from them either Thurs or Friday with either a positive or rejection response. I'm nervous, but I honestly think I have a shot at the technical interview!

I don’t look at my “settling” for another role as the end of my SWE journey. I see it as a place to land while I figure out what’s next. My background in non-profit and community work is really making me want to enter that realm again, but I also don’t want to give up SWE

I want to create transparency around “failed” (hate that word) self-taught developers. I spent 2 yrs of my life learning how to code to end up working an admin role after getting burnt out from the job hunt 🤷🏼‍♀️ But what no one ever talks about- what’s next for us?

I’m happy to announce that I have received my certificate for #fullstack #webdevelopment from the University of Utah! Obtaining this certification didn’t come easy for me. It wasn’t the coding as I have been coding for a while, but the pressure it put on my schedule. I had to juggle working a full time job, being a father, and going to school. To give you an idea, I would wake up at 5 am, work ten hours, have a one and a half hour break before class which ran from 6:30 to 9:30 pm, shower, then go to bed. I did this for 6 months along with the #100DaysOfCode challenge! It was a large sacrifice, and I’m so happy that I’m finally here. I’m ready to contribute tremendous value and commitment to a team. Thanks to all of my followers, you guys cheering me on, liking my posts or commenting. It means the world to me! It’s what kept me going! You can do anything you put your mind to!
