@HyReports Mckenna, Knutsen and Hoeneb have interested me the most outside of the unrealistic options

@RudolphN17 @barnabyslater Try and see if Keane would leave Ferencvaros?
English

@NOT_MOTD @Ladbrokes Of course yes. You can't call yourself a big club if you don't have European trophies

Does winning a European Cup make Aston Villa a bigger club than Arsenal, Newcastle and Spurs? 🤔

@charlieparrish Plenty of players that we could have played, that would have been better than squad signings (stambouli, wimmer, nkoudou), or at least could have received decent fees for if given minutes/developed. Like veljkjovic, tanganga, KWP, onomah, oakley-booth, roles, walkes etc.
English

@sloader300 To play devil's advocate, was there actually much worthy talent there to provide that pathway to? Madueke a shame, and Marcus Edwards obviously feels like a one that got away to a degree (and will doubtless come and haunt us on Sat) but even he hasn't *really* fulfilled promise.
English

@charlieparrish Parallels to the 2014 team he took over. Lots of young potential to develop (bergvall, gray, odobert = bentaleb, mason, townsend), some senior bodies to cut (biss, bentancur) and some experienced players to look to for on field leadership (romero, Gallagher, solanke

@Kish_P14 Why not round pegs on round holes and bring in Olusesi???

@ROTS1882 Once subbed on a player and forgot to tell him what position he was playing
English

@spurssglobal Shame he’s going Bayern this summer and will never wear a Spurs shirt. Feel like we really had something with him.

This is what I’d go with today.. Porro and Bentancur just can’t start. Davies, although shouldn’t still be here brings balance and a left foot on that side. Yes, I know we can’t play two strikers… I don’t mind which of them start as the 9.. I haven’t written Kolo off yet… #COYS

@therhinospeaks @olliethfc @brewersliam84 Watch out he’ll grass him up to the club, he’s got history

@sufferingspurs @SpursArmyTweets I love this kind of signing, provided it goes hand in hand with big first xi improvements. Like if this means we can spend a large fee on a ball playing cm then it works perfectly
English

I find this such a weird take. All I hear from people is how we should be more like Brighton etc with our recruitment by finding gems in South America that no one has heard of and then we do it, and everyone’s writing him off before they’ve even seen him play. (I know you said you haven’t judged him yet). I asked Tim vickery (South American football expert and spurs fan) and he said he thinks he’s great. Let’s give him a chance

Football is slowly dying.
I’ve never watched Souza play, have no idea on his strengths or abilities, so I won’t judge HIM personally yet.
But it just feels like another example of a signing that follows the exact same ploy as so many - young player with high potential and a higher resale value.
Businessmen in charge, running clubs like a business. It’s worth than it ever has been. And it’s sooo boring to see. Bring back the days where you go and sign proven players and they make instant impacts.
