@nickstrong @thereallsu777 I’m not trolling you. I just asked you to name a dev team that is not what I said it was, and you can’t do it. You said I don’t know the rules. I do. Maybe don’t spout nonsense if you aren’t ready to support it.

Recruits----- Im confused. You say you want a program that DEVELOPS YOU... Why are you turning down the DEVELOPMENT TEAM OFFER? Explain what development means to you. Thanks

@nickstrong @thereallsu777 I’ll stand by my statement that dev teams that are about more than filling dorms, fundraising, and getting numbers up. I’d wager maybe 1 in 50 are outside of that, and I would love for you to post examples rather than just talking nonsense.

@nickstrong @thereallsu777 At no point were we talking about having enough pitching or how much pitching is required or affected. For a guy that seems educated, you’re having a hard time staying on topic.

@nickstrong @thereallsu777 What are you talking about? You asked why recruits don’t commit to dev teams. I told you. You made a statement about less talented players and having a juco on campus, as if having a DT was the same thing. I told you why it wasn’t. You asked about game limits. I told you. +

@nickstrong @thereallsu777 You mean how there is a 50 game limit per player, including DT games? That your “DT” guys can play Dev games but they count against their game limit? Which rules do I need to know? That you have to certify eligibility even for fall scrimmages?

@nickstrong @thereallsu777 NCAA DI at the 4 year level. NJCAA DI & DII, which is what I was comparing a DT to (based on your inference). I am well aware that NAIA allows participation in a limited number of DT games, but if you’re recruited to a DT that is a different animal.

@theomanbearpig @thereallsu777 This post wasn't about my program. We don't even have a separate team. We have one team. That's the other problem. You dont even know the rules of college baseball. What 4 year organization is even allowed 56 games? You're confusing people.

@nickstrong @thereallsu777 You’re saying it’s not? OK, I will humor you. Name a DT where players are jumping from there to four years, playing a 56 game schedule in an actual league, and being run like a legitimate JUCO program.

@nickstrong @thereallsu777 Most recruits want development. They also want to play for a legit program in a real league with good competition. Comparing your DT to a JUCO is insulting. No one is going from your DT to quality 4 years. They're not playing a 56 games. Grow up and stop with the nonsense.

@nickstrong @thereallsu777 That's not what you asked There is nothing wrong with having kids less talented. Nothing wrong with having a Dev team or a JV. 1. You asked why recruits looking to develop don't want to be on a dev team - I gave the answer. 2. You don't have a JUCO on your campus. +

@nickstrong Its 100% true. Cite some examples of programs that consistently have players come in on the Dev team that log meaningful innings or at bats. I'll wait. I'm not talking about varsity guys playing JV games to get work in - I mean legit Development team guys. Almost nonexistent.

Hats off to Venezuela. Terrific pitching performance. USA undone by a leadoff walk, a bounced throw, and an anemic offense.

@JeffPassan You get that they catch the ball behind the plate and that breaking often balls drop, right? 3D zone it almost certainly got the zone - midline of plate, it was likely under the zone. Human umpire: too close to take with two strikes.

"100% it was a ball." The spectacular USA-Dominican Republic WBC semifinal game was marred by blown calls -- including one that ended the game. I spoke with Geraldo Perdomo, Juan Soto and DR GM Nelson Cruz about it. Here's what they said, free at ESPN: espn.com/mlb/story/_/id…

🚨 NEW BODYCAM FOOTAGE RELEASED The traffic stop that went viral now has bodycam showing what actually happened. Deputies in San Marcos pulled over a red Hyundai Sonata for a vehicle code violation late at night. While checking the car, they noticed registration inconsistencies and damage to the steering column, raising suspicions the vehicle could be stolen. Then things escalated. Police say the 33-year-old passenger ignored repeated commands, rolled up his window, reached toward the floorboard, and armed himself with a semiautomatic handgun. Officers safely removed the 21-year-old driver, but the passenger refused orders to drop the weapon and raised the gun. At that point, five deputies and an officer opened fire. The man was pronounced dead. The original video sparked intense debate online… but now the bodycam is adding new context to what unfolded. After seeing the details - what’s your conclusion? ⬇️ 🇺🇸

@CoachSwit There’s more to it than that. If those are plus secondaries and the fastball has life, or they throw from a tough angle that can work. A stock RHP at 85 with a 73 mph gradual curve ball and a 76 flat changeup is not getting many college hitters out. They can get better though.

For all the velocity experts out there… So are we saying the pitcher who throws 85 mph, commands the zone, and can land two off-speed pitches for strikes anytime has no chance of playing D1 baseball? Or are we pretending those guys don’t still get outs? Just wondering?

@thecobway I agree in principle, but you are missing the point: what is the magic number, and why? How do you know? How does anyone? If not 85-100 then what is the number and how does anyone you quantify it? “Trust me” is not an answer. Lay out an effective on ramp plan and educate us.

High school baseball coaches letting their 16-17 year old pitchers throw over 100 pitches are seriously hurting these kids. No excuse whatsoever for this bullsh*t! Kids/parents—if the coach isn’t smart enough to have a clue, give him the f*cking ball back. Makes me sick! Wake up!

@thecobway How many weeks have they been throwing? How many months over the year? How many pitches per session are they throwing and what other training are they doing? Is it a sudden jump in volume? How much rest between high intent? dig in and tell us why there is a magic number
