I love seeing people happy and doing well. Life is meant to be lived, not just survived.

Manliness as conceptualized within patriarchy is less about what one is, and more about what one is not - i.e. not feminine. To resemble a woman is seen as shameful. Patriarchal men define themselves through absence, then wonder why they feel hollow.

@suchnerve Men will act like sitting to pee is an emasculating experience, and then do it every single day when they have to poo. The patriarchy does terrible things to a mind.

In one weekend they used an important woman in black history to insult Coco Gauff for wearing the hair that grows out of her own hair. They also saw a black woman who loved her moisturised and good looking feet the way they were and projected their self hatred on her…

Patriarchy doesn’t stop at the front door. It follows women home into how they look, speak and move, how they keep the house, and show up emotionally. There’s still an expectation to be pleasant, attractive, accommodating, and “on,” even in your own space. And that’s the difference. A lot of men get to come home and just exist. Women are still expected to be something.

I think a lot of women struggle mentally when they live with a man because home stops feeling like a place to relax. Instead of being a space where you can fully be yourself, it becomes another place where you still have to “perform” and be put together all the time. There’s no break, no space to just be messy, tired, or off.

Take a lot of pictures. It doesn’t matter if you share them or not. Just take pictures.

You want to have conversations about the shared cognitive load with someone who thinks providing means putting money down? Or who thinks they're "helping". Lol best of luck to you

the thing is i don’t want to debate these issues anymore, especially with people who have refused to see the lived experiences of others.

Hate to break it to you, but any friendship/relationship where the other person has unconditional access to you and they're only accessible to you when they choose to be, is not healthy no matter what it seems like. You're just too giving and selfless to see it but that's toxic.
