And you sure as hell can't trust CNN.
They hyped Iranian propaganda as a "victory" for Tehran, only to memory-hole it when the missiles kept flying. Meanwhile, Trump paused strikes on conditions — reopen the Strait of Hormuz and stop the attacks — and Israel is backing the move with eyes wide open.
This is what happens when legacy media carries water for America's enemies. Classic fake news cycle exposed again.
Wake up, America. Iran doesn't do "ceasefires" — they do deception.

Yesterday he said a whole civilisation would die tonight. Now he is offering to help rebuild it. That is not a contradiction. That is the oldest negotiating sequence in recorded history. Destroy the leverage, then sell the reconstruction. And the man who wrote The Art of the Deal just executed it on the largest stage in modern geopolitics.
Read the post through three lenses simultaneously.
For the domestic audience, the message is: the war worked, Iran capitulated, we are helping with the traffic, big money will be made, America wins. The language is transactional, optimistic, and forward-looking. No mention of the 3,400 dead across the region. No mention of the 10-point counter-proposal he called not good enough fourteen hours earlier. The tonal pivot from annihilation to Golden Age in half a day is calibrated for a news cycle that cannot hold two frames at once.
For the Iranian audience, the message is a velvet fist. Iran can start reconstruction, which means Iran needs reconstruction, which means the campaign destroyed enough that rebuilding is now the national priority. The offer to load up with supplies positions the United States as the indispensable provider of what Iran cannot produce domestically: the specialised equipment, the steel, the engineering expertise, and above all the five manufacturers of brazed aluminium heat exchangers whose 18 to 36 month lead times determine whether any cracker restarts this decade. Trump is not offering charity. He is offering to sell Iran the tools to rebuild what he destroyed, and the price will be set at the Islamabad table on Friday.
For the Chinese audience, the message contains a single phrase that should alarm every strategist in Zhongnanhai. “The United States of America will be helping with the traffic buildup in the Strait of Hormuz.” That is not humanitarian logistics. That is a declaration of permanent US naval presence at the chokepoint through which 1.22 million barrels of Chinese-bound Iranian crude flow daily via ghost fleet. “Hangin’ around” means carrier strike groups, amphibious ready groups, and the 82nd Airborne positioned within range of every tanker, every toll transaction, and every yuan settlement that the war’s shadow architecture produced. The ghost fleet sailed with impunity for 39 days because the US was focused on striking Iranian infrastructure. Now the strikes have paused. The navy has nothing to do except watch the strait. And it will be watching when Bessent arrives in Beijing in five weeks.
The molecule crisis does not read Truth Social. The crackers at Asaluyeh remain rubble regardless of whether Trump offers supplies or threatens annihilation. The heat exchangers still take years. The railway bridges are still collapsed. The fertiliser deficit is still locking in yield losses across South Asia. The reconstruction Trump is offering to facilitate is the reconstruction that determines whether the molecule crisis lasts three years or five, and the terms of that facilitation will be negotiated at Islamabad alongside nuclear commitments, sanctions relief, and the $2 million Hormuz toll that Iran embedded in its 10-point proposal.
Golden Age or not, the chemistry has its own timeline. And chemistry does not negotiate.

Three negotiations will occur in the next five weeks and nobody is reading them as one sequence. Islamabad on Friday. The US waiver expiry on April 19. Bessent’s Beijing summit in mid-May. Each one feeds the next. The molecule crisis connects all three. And Trump is the only principal who sits across the table at every meeting. Islamabad determines whether the Iran ceasefire becomes permanent or collapses. If it collapses, Hormuz closes again, oil spikes back above $110, and the molecule deficit that C&EN says will debilitate petrochemicals for the rest of 2026 deepens further. If it holds, Iran’s 10-point demands move to the table: full sanctions relief, $2 million Hormuz toll per ship, enrichment recognition, and reconstruction reparations. Trump called the proposal workable but not good enough. The gap between workable and good enough is what Friday’s talks must close. The waiver expiry on April 19 determines whether 140 million barrels of Iranian crude currently at sea under US Treasury General License U continue flowing to Chinese teapot refineries or become sanctioned cargo again. If Trump renews the waiver, Chinese energy security is preserved and Beijing arrives at the mid-May summit with less urgency. If Trump lets it expire, every Iranian barrel afloat becomes a sanctions violation, the ghost fleet faces interdiction risk, and China’s teapot refineries lose the discounted feedstock that funds their margins. The waiver is not an Iran decision. It is a China decision disguised as an Iran decision. The Bessent Beijing summit was originally scoped around tariffs, agricultural purchases, the Busan trade truce extension, and rare earth export controls. But the Iran war rewrote the agenda before it was finalised. China applied last-minute pressure on Iran to accept the ceasefire. China’s CIPS system surged to 928 billion renminbi in daily volume during the war. China’s ghost fleet continued operating through the entire conflict, settling in yuan, building the parallel payment infrastructure that the petrodollar has never faced at this scale. And China controls 95 percent of heavy rare earth processing, the chokehold that determines whether the MAG7 can manufacture the chips, motors, and magnets that justify their valuations. Trump walks into Beijing with leverage that no American president has held since Nixon went to China in 1972. He just demonstrated the willingness and capability to destroy a major oil-producing nation’s entire industrial base in 39 days. He reopened the world’s most important chokepoint through a combination of kinetic pressure and Pakistani mediation. He holds the waiver that determines whether Chinese refineries keep running on discounted Iranian crude. And the military campaign proved that US precision strike capability can eliminate 130 air defence systems, render 85 percent of a nation’s weapons chemistry inoperable, and sever its transport network in under six weeks. The question Bessent carries to Beijing is not about tariffs. It is about architecture. Will China continue building the yuan bypass infrastructure that the war accelerated, or will it trade that leverage for concessions on rare earths, agricultural access, and a framework that keeps the dollar system intact for another decade? My take on the ceasefire
Iran blinked. Just yesterday the regime rejected a temporary ceasefire and refused to meet in Islamabad. Over night they took President Trump’s threats seriously. There is no way to bridge Iran’s 10 points with America’s 15. So the outcome of negotiations depends on whether Iran accepts the fundamental U.S. demands: removal of highly enriched uranium, no further enrichment, dismantlement of ballistic missile and drone capacity, an end to funding and directing the regional proxies, and full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. We’ll see soon enough.

US President Donald Trump said the United States would help manage shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said Washington would assist with the “traffic buildup” in the strategic waterway.
“A big day for World Peace! Iran wants it to happen, they’ve had enough! Likewise, so has everyone else! The United States of America will be helping with the traffic buildup in the Strait of Hormuz,” he wrote.
He said there would be “lots of positive action” and added that Iran could begin reconstruction after weeks of conflict.
“Big money will be made. Iran can start the reconstruction process. We’ll be loading up with supplies of all kinds, and just ‘hangin’ around’ in order to make sure that everything goes well,” the US president added.
He described the moment as a potential turning point for the region and said he was confident the situation would improve.
“Just like we are experiencing in the U.S., this could be the Golden Age of the Middle East,” Trump said.

But look at the reality:

⚪️ Thousands of IRGC personnel killed and reliance on foreign militias like PMF and Afghan Fatemiyoun
⚪️ Military collapse: IRGC Navy crippled, air force and air defenses near destroyed and skies controlled by US and Israel
⚪️ Infrastructure wiped: petrochemicals, military industries, Basij bases and police command centers destroyed
⚪️ Intelligence failure: top intel structure dismantled
⚪️ Regional isolation: GCC aligned against the regime, Dubai sanctions route closed and Qatar ties turned hostile

⚪️ Internal pressure: people still demand overthrow and post January a deep divide of blood, hatred and anger

That’s how regimes survive moments like this. They sign the surrender and then go home and tell everyone they won. CNN’s error wasn’t reporting that the statement existed. The error was framing it as the definitive Iranian position rather than what it obviously was: domestic propaganda designed to disguise a retreat. Any serious analyst looking at that statement would have immediately recognized it as the regime talking to its own audience, not a real account of what was agreed to. CNN either didn’t see that or didn’t care because the headline was too good. Traditional media can’t distinguish between what a regime says for domestic consumption and what actually happened in the negotiation. This is the noise machine operating as designed. It is almost hysterical that we are all looking at the power plants in Iran. When was the last or ANY time Trump has given targets to the enemy? MASTER at negotiation and strategy and most importantly, he knows the value of surprise in war. While they make human chains … we will be taking assets. He has had this target since the 1980s. (Speculation only) but i would be shocked if he hits when and where he told them he would. Let them make their human chains. No one is coming for them. Perhaps i am wrong, but he is great at this game.

1- EE. UU. obtuvo dos semanas para controlar el mercado de petróleo y gas y tratar con Irán desde una posición más alta y mejor.
2- La República Islámica perdió la carta de crear una crisis en el mercado de petróleo y gas.
3- La amenaza de Trump de destruir centrales eléctricas y puentes convirtió la amenaza de EE. UU. e Israel en una amenaza a la supervivencia de Irán y obligó al régimen a retroceder.
