We’re raised to believe the man “carries the bloodline” because of his last name. But biologically, that’s not how it works. Mitochondrial DNA the part of you that powers every cell is passed only from your mother, unchanged, generation after generation and only a female can pass it forward. So while names shift and change, the only lineage that truly never breaks is a woman.

some of you are so privileged and blind to oppression that if you had lived during the freedom struggle, you would have condemned our freedom fighters for resisting against the colonial rule only because it wasn't peaceful or docile enough...

Women across India are appreciating the initiative to ensure reservation for women in legislative bodies. Here is my letter to India’s Nari Shakti, reiterating our commitment to implement what has been pending for decades….

Ever noticed: An upper caste woman will notice patriarchy but not casteism A lower caste man will notice casteism but not patriarchy An upper caste man will notice neither casteism nor patriarchy A lower caste woman will notice both casteism and patriarchy

@umm_yeah_so Ghunghat wasn't forced per se before. Your wish and accordingly how well u can deal with the weather. Guys in Rajasthan also cover their head and hair due to hot climate. But it became enforced due to islamic Turkic invasions

@umm_yeah_so The modesty surely got inspired from Islamic rule. Just like in British rule. And most of communities didn't keep ghunghat that also show it wasn't popular. This is the tribal attire of biggest ST community of Rajasthan. Where do u see patriarchy here? U r pseudo feminist

@miragechazer101 All I said is it did not come from Islamic invasion which is correct. Also if it was about protection from Sun, men too would do it, but they dont, so u can take ur pseudo justifications somewhere else

@umm_yeah_so Lmao, it was popular in hot, dry areas like Rajasthan, where they have to cover themselves, sometimes even face. Majority of India, had atariya and uttariya. That's the traditional attire in humid regions where people sweat alot. Do better. None of this has to do with religion
