My views on the #sabarimala case:
From a feminist perspective, it is a completely useless fight. Women need to reject notions of temple, pilgrimage and religion rather than fight for the right to be stupid and regressive.
From equality perspective, I wonder, why the petitioner did not initiate the PIL for all women's right to enter all religious structures? Why did they only pick Sabarimala and Hindu women? If the petitioners cannot give a logical answer, then this petition was politically motivated from the get go.
I also wonder about the timing of the constitution of 9-Judge bench, since the matter is politically sensitive with elections due in Kerala.
