For most of DeFi’s history, everyone competed on one number: APY.Protocols advertised the highest yield, users moved wherever the percentage looked better, and success was measured by how big the reward looked on the dashboard. The assumption was simple, higher APY meant a better system.But over time it became clear that the highest APY was rarely the most efficient use of capital. •A position earning 200% for a week and then collapsing isn’t productive capital. In many cases users weren’t actually compounding ,they were resetting their progress repeatedly. •Capital efficiency is much simpler than it sounds.
