Your post is what is non-sensical - the 🇺🇸 🇱🇧 🇮🇱 are on the same page and anti Hezbollah. There is no such complexity across Lebanese society: the Lebanese are fed up, want to move on and get back to growing their economy. You could be helpful to them by limiting your parroting of Hezbollah propaganda.

The focus on an Aoun-Netanyahu meeting is suspicious—a preference for a photo-op benefiting Trump more than an effort to seriously address the complexities of Lebanon-Israel talks, which requires concerted diplomacy. The U.S. doesn’t even have a credible figure mediating on this file, after the utterly disastrous examples of Ortagus and Barrack, and is instead engaged in rhetorically overselling a one-time meeting as far more than it is likely to be. This is nonsensical.

في أول تعليق له على البيان الصادر عن السفارة الأميركية في بيروت، والذي دعت فيه رئيس الجمهورية العماد جوزيف عون إلى عقد اجتماع مباشر مع رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو، قال رئيس مجلس النواب #نبيه_بري لـ«الشرق الأوسط» إن البيان يُعبّر عن نفسه، وليس عندي ما أضيفه عليه، مؤكداً أنه أوقف تشغيل محركاته، وأن جوابه على رئيس الجمهورية «جاء رداً على ما قاله أثناء استقباله للهيئات الاقتصادية» (في إشارة إلى ما قاله عون عن تنسيق كامل مع بري بخصوص المفاوضات)، وهذا ما يكمن وراء اعتذاره عن حضور اللقاء الذي كان مقرراً مع الرئيس عون ورئيس الحكومة نواف سلام في القصر الجمهوري. وتطرّق الرئيس بري إلى تمديد الهدنة لثلاثة أسابيع بتدخل من الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترمب، متسائلاً: أين هي هذه الهدنة؟ وهل أوقفت إسرائيل تجريفها البلدات وهدمها المنازل، واستباحتها دماء الأطفال والنساء والشيوخ، ومنعها فرق الإسعاف من إنقاذ الجرحى ونقلهم إلى المستشفيات، أو سحب من علقوا تحت الركام حتى فارقوا الحياة؟ كما أشار إلى استهداف الهيئات الصحية والمسعفين، ما أدى إلى استشهاد العشرات منهم، متسائلاً عمّا إذا كان جميع هؤلاء الضحايا جزءاً من البنى العسكرية لـ«حزب الله»، كما تدّعي إسرائيل لتبرير تدميرها للبلدات الجنوبية. وقال إن الهدنة المزعومة أتاحت لإسرائيل التمادي في عدوانها وارتكاب المجازر على نحو غير مسبوق، من دون تدخّل الولايات المتحدة الأميركية لإلزامها بوقف الأعمال العدائية وتثبيت وقف النار، خصوصاً أنها كانت وراء التوصل لتمديد الهدنة، ما يدعوها لاحترام تعهّدها أمام اللبنانيين والمجتمع الدولي، وإلا ما الجدوى من المفاوضات تحت ضغط إسرائيل بالنار؟ وماذا سنقول لذوي شهداء الغدر الإسرائيلي من الجنوبيين؟

Lebanon is being pushed into negotiations it did not choose, on terms it did not write, over a war it does not control. Some of the key points from the article I had the pleasure of working on with @rayajalabi: • Lebanon was largely sidelined in diplomacy over its own war, with key decisions shaped in Washington rather than Beirut. • Trump publicly announced a Lebanon-Israel call before President Joseph Aoun had agreed to it, exposing how little control Beirut had over the process. • Lebanese officials say the 10-day ceasefire happened because the US and Iran wanted it, not because Lebanon shaped it. • Direct Lebanon-Israel talks are moving forward under heavy US pressure, while Beirut has little leverage over the agenda. • Aoun and Nawaf Salam are pushing to bring all arms under state control, but the state still lacks both the political consensus and the coercive power to confront Hezbollah. • Hezbollah, despite heavy losses, remains deeply influential and has used the negotiations to intensify criticism of the government. • The ceasefire terms themselves reflect Lebanon’s weak position: Israel can keep operating under “self-defence”, while the Lebanese army cannot. ft.com/content/b6faa5…

Lebanon stands at a crossroads. Its people have a historic opportunity to reclaim their country and shape their future as a truly sovereign, independent nation.    Direct engagement between Lebanon and Israel, two neighboring countries that should have never been at war, can mark the beginning of a national revival. The extended Cessation of Hostilities, achieved at the personal request of President Trump, has given Lebanon the space and the opportunity to put all of its legitimate demands on the table with the full attention of the United States Government.  A direct meeting between President Aoun and Prime Minister Netanyahu, facilitated by President Trump, would give Lebanon the chance to secure concrete guarantees on full sovereignty, territorial integrity, secure borders, humanitarian and reconstruction support, and the complete restoration of Lebanese state authority over every inch of its territory—guaranteed by the United States.   This is Lebanon’s moment to decide its own destiny, one which belongs to all its people. The United States is ready to stand with Lebanon as it seizes this opportunity with confidence and wisdom. The time for hesitation is over.
