"Ordinals are dead."
Everyone on CT keeps saying it. So I checked the on-chain data.
Here is what I found:
Last 30 days: ~$49M in volume.
Yet, only ~$2M came from actual Ordinals art.
Wait, zoom into the last 7 days: Bitcoin just flipped Ethereum to become the #1 NFT Chain ($11.8M). But $6.8M of that volume came from just 16 transactions by 8 buyers ($X@AI BRC-20).
So what the hell is actually going on?
Ordinals didn’t die. They shifted.
The meta transitioned from:
→ The Art / Culture layer (PFP meta, 10k JPEGs on Magic Eden)
To: → The Financial / Token layer (OTC flows, BRC-20 speculation, whale transfers)
And this is exactly why it feels "dead" to NFT people. Because the part they care about the culture and the PFPs, is dead quiet.
But zoom out. The protocol is fine. Infra is stronger than ever. Capital hasn't left, it just evolved into heavy financial flows.
This is what cycles look like:
Culture → Speculation → Silence → Reset → New Narrative.
Right now, we are in the "Silence / Reset" phase. And that’s usually where the next massive run starts.

This is the right framing from @0xBinari.
Putting BTC into wrapped systems, bridges, or discretionary custody layers is not the destination.
We’re building TBVs for the opposite approach:
BTC remains locked on Bitcoin, users keep the core self-custody model, and external protocols can verify and use that state without custodial shortcuts, on Ethereum, and starting with @aave

Let me clarify further: we worked together, and the swap module did reach a working POC, but it was not production ready. During that period, it became clear that the 2.0 upgrade would bring far more value to the protocol, while Fractal became the top priority on UniSat’s side.
Upgrading BRC20 is costly. We spent a couple million from our own pockets to complete the 2.0 upgrade.
So I don't think a DAO with 0 treasury will work.
BRC20 has matured now and BiS’s next focus is to bring stables and more DeFi use cases to BRC20 & Bitcoin L1.

I sincerely appreciate the response, @0xBinari, but how can anyone who genuinely cares about the BRC-20 Protocol not be utterly confused at this point? Something is not adding up. 😵💫
As previously stated, “an immaculately conceived token, like $ORDI, deserves decentralized rails,” but true decentralization necessitates the prerequisite that the public has access to true information; however, the public is not privy to the closed-door dialogues between indexers, and what limited open dialogue we have is conflicting, so I beg you to empathize with our predicament. 🙏
Therefore, as the founder of one of the most enthusiastic and enduring BRC-20 communities, I propose that @bestinslotxyz (the canonical BRC-20 indexer) should establish an official BRC-20 Protocol DAO with #ORDI as the governance token so that we can begin building out decentralized rails natively on #Bitcoin via BRC2.0 smart contracts. 💪

@sagechainx I think it makes sense to inscribe "soul and memory files" onto Bitcoin blockchain to "immortalize" certain aspects of agents.
